Dennis Wideman

With Calgary's future still a few years away what would it take to get them to trade. I personally think he's slightly over paid and his NTC is problematic but imo he still a good 3-4 RHD.

probably wont be traded for a couple years. but if the flames arent getting a 1st round pick or a solid young prospect its not worth it.

I have no problem keeping Wideman. When he was signed and everyone was crapping on Feaster for how badly he overpaid I feared the worst, but his defensive zone woes were massively overstated from what I saw. I'd rather not ice an entire lineup of rookies, so I don't see any reason to trade him considering the offers will probably not be that great anyway.

Would take an over payment for sure. We need him, we don't have 1 legit top pairing dman so we can't really move one of our top 4 without another coming back.

Personally i had suggested
Pumepel
Wikstrand/hoffman
3rd
For
Wideman
but it sounds like wideman's cost would be more then im willing to pay.

The Flames need Wideman right now. The organization is better off moving Cammallari, Stempniak, and Stajan as of the moment, and maybe even Hudler.

If the Flames were to move Wideman, I'd hope we'd get someone who can play in the NHL in return. Flames line-up is embarrassing enough as it is. >_<

Stone is our best non NHL prospect. I can't imagine we'd move him. Most sens fans immediately shoot down any deal involving him. I myself am more open to trading him but i'd rather do it for a younger defense men. I would have a hard time offering more tbh, as i said the asking price might be too much.

I think Gio is a solid top pairing not a #1 but a solid #2 D man.

Ideally, Gio is a top notch #3 that can play on a top pairing when needed. He's not a huge min logger like Jbo.

I view Wideman much of the same mold, but Gio is better defensively.

On a good team with an established first pairing they'd both make good second pairing d imo
