From yesterday @EdmOilKings: Brandon Baddock led all scorers today with 2 goals and 2 assists. #OilKingsTC

Here's a sneak peak at the colours for their new 3rd jersey.

I can't say that I'm a fan of the colours or the logo. 3rd jerseys should at least share something in common with the regular jerseys.

Looks like it's going to be a King, like on a deck of cards. Would have liked a darker green. Don't think the lime will do it justice. Will be interested to see it though.

With all the guys away at NHL camps I hope the team gets a few back before the home opener Sept 20th!! I'd hate to be a WHL GM and have to guess who's going to be back and who's not. Any guess's on opening night roster?

I have a "Burger King" Gretzky LA Kings jersey, so my tastes in jerseys are admittedly terrible, but I'm really looking forward to this jersey. They needed something fresh and new to call their own, and the lime green on black will "pop". A third jersey was long overdue.

Interesting stuff on that new third jersey. Hopefully this isn't a precursor to rebranding the Kings, since IMO they have some of the best sweaters in the sport, let alone the dub.

The Hockey News has the Oil Kings ranked third behind Kelowna and Portland in their recently released power rankings. Optimistic perhaps, but encouraging nonetheless.

IMO, as long as the Kings get Reinhart and at least one of Lazar/Samuelsson back (I suspect it will be both), they should be in the mix for home ice in the first round again.

Personally, I think that Jarry is a better goaltender than Brossoit. If the team can stay in the mix early on hopefully Hansch can augment the roster accordingly and make it stronger.

We may have made the final last year but our depth wasn't nearly as good as it was the year before.

I wonder if they're going to slowly integrate the new colours into the everyday jerseys...

https://twitter.com/NewFaceComing

That would be disappointing. The Oil Kings have two of the best jerseys in junior hockey already. There's no need to change them.

I was told that the originals will stay unchanged and the thirds will be used very sparingly.

I hope that these third jerseys are not anything like those third jerseys the Oilers used to have that were designed by the Spawn guy (Todd MacFarlane?).

Damn. I know it's just pre-season but the Oil Kings really choked one away tonight against the Rebels. They were leading 4-1 in the 3rd period and lost 7-5.

Oil Kings had a 5-2 lead going into the 3rd and lost 7-5! Dea let in 5 on 17 shots, I think he'd be better off spending this season in Midget as he hasn't seemed to had a great training camp and Pre-season while Santos has showed well and could be a VG back-up to Jarry. Nice to see they finally scored some goals in a game with 3 from the forwards and 2 from the D.

Last season with the flex pack you could get seats in the lower bowl between the blue lines opposite from the team benches. Is it the same this season? Anyone know?

So realistically, do we still compete this year?

I could see us battling for a playoff spot, but I have a feeling there won't be a rubber match with Portland.

Maybe the OKs can pull some strings and bring Nurse, Roy and Khaira to help out the team.

That would be sick. Would have to be ala Kootaney a couple years ago (ie a solid but unspectacular team catching fire and running roughshod in the playoffs) if it were to happen though, not a clash of the titans as in recent years.

Playoffs are definitely doable- IMO, with the right mix of players coming back and a good year from Jarry I could conceivably see us, without bias, winning a round or two.

I'd imagine a lot of those seats are still available. You wouldn't know unless you talked to a ticket rep or checked on ticketmaster, I guess.

The new color scheme seems to be Seahawks green and silver, on black. Maybe navy didn't pop as much as black does.

Just curious do you have an inside source? Because that'd be wicked!

Hell no. Just reading between the lines here. For the Oilers third jersey in 2001, Todd McFarlane unapologetically used the Dallas Cowboys color scheme. The Seahawks colors are hugely popular right now. But the green is a little too pukey and the Oilers exhausted the use of navy.

OT: TJ Foster is joining the Alberta Golden Bears and Fernando Pisani is joining the team's coaching staff (part time).

Great game right now. 6-1 OKs heading into the third. Eller looks great. Jarry too, Baddock had a great fight.

Also the alternates are amazing. Grabbed one, and I could see these over taking the normal jerseys. They just look unique. In a good way.
