Habs Golf Tourney Notes

Dave Stubbs reports on twitter: Therrien says Galchenyuk ready for increased role this season. This makes me excited as the kid has the tools to be a topline player as early as this year imo. Hope he gets lots of PP time.

Also Pleks father passed away over the weekend so he is not there, very sad.

PK says he doesn't want to talk about his contract as focus should be on the new players, nice PK.

Price has not yet used his new shorter pads for this year, thought this was a little odd as it will be a big change for goalies but there is still lots of time before the season starts, can't wait, go Habs!

Why is Price using shorter pads?

Did they mandate lower thigh rises?

Arpon Basu actually mentioned that, I remember hearing at the end of the season that it did go through that goalies had to shrink their pads for this year.

And if you send that pleks line against top opposition, it will get massacred.

Parros had a rotator cuff (sp?) surgery at the end of May. He said he could be ready for start of season or miss a little bit of time, but not much.

Why ? Plekanec is supposed to be one if the best defensive players in the league, he could surely balanced out Brière deficiency and Galchenyuk as to learn one way or the other.

Son of a *****!

God dammit Parros! I got tickets for the home opener and I figured it was guaranteed I would see Parros vs. Orr again.

Bergevin said that there's always room for rookies. They will make room if needed.

Gotta think guys like Drewiske and Bouillon could be moved for Tinordi. But if he's gonna ride the press box here, I'd rather have Tinordi in Hamilton.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. Going to the Philly game too since I didn't make it up last year. Honestly I don't care much for fighting in hockey at all, but I am a little disappointed he wont be ready. Would have been exciting to see his first game/fight as the Habs enforcer.

I still remember the time a member here saying he expects DD to be be part of Team Canada in Sotchi... and it wasn't a joke.

At best DD might find himself on a WC team one day if he has a good season and other players refuse or are in playoffs. Sochi? Ouff, not a chance.

I really hope DD has a great season to quiet some of his detractors. The guy was a bright spot in a crappy season 2 years ago and now most want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I know being the size of an actual baby doesn't help his cause much either....
