Thanks for chiming in....I sense something....what is it....

Clarkson does have limitations (speed and playmaking) but is a pretty damn good player all told (including those intangibles that people love spout on about with any player lacking dangles).

I'm all for conversation and debate, but speaking about new contracts handed out this summer and...wait... the season hasn't started yet.

So how in the heck would we know if the contract is bad or not yet?

You can only discuss if the contract is bad based on past performance, and even then it's almost pointless...

BUT, I digress. Clarkson's is the worst for me.

Clarkson and Crawford for me. Some ridiculous numbers for mediocore players.

Clowe. But I also have not seen enough of Clowe to fairly compare

That seems like an odd answer. Oh well.

Clarkson but that's only because he can score a decent amount of goals. Clowe can't.

Hes also younger and doesnt have concussion issues...Clarkson to me seems like the likelier of the two to still be playing at the end of his contract. To be honest I expected Clarkson to get something like 4.5 over 5 years at the onset of free agency.

Clarkson also benefitted from being the top UFA in a weak class. If he was in next year's class, I'd bet he'd get a less expensive contract for sure.

I'd say Clarkson solely because it impeded Toronto from re-signing some RFAs.

Well lets just leave it at that. I liked him more when he was the enforcer.

Clarkson has the highest "buyout potential" IMO so I'll go with him.

Clowe's the worst, value-wise. Crawford's though will hurt his team the most by far.

When you have a ton of cap, no chance to win and no UFAs will sign with you, overpaying a UFA is an option. Paying a 2m goalie 6m when youre contending is insane.

Joe Corvo. He does not even deserve a dollar for what he brings to the table. I really wish the sens could have tried to go after another defensemen instead of uh oh corvo.

Seems like ever since the lockout well the lockout before the most recent one teams have been locking up their top young talent. It's led to a lot of these mid range guys hitting grandslams on free agency day by virtue of being the best of a bad lot.

Clowe easily for me. I was astonished when I saw it break on TSN.
