how do you figure that? bryzgalovs playoff record is no better than nabakovs.

i say invite him too camp and if he accepts ( which i doubt ) see what he does and take it from there.

I think this makes sense to give him a shot for a year or two. He seems to do better out of the spot light of big city type stuff. I know the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn so there might be a little bit more of a spotlight on them but not nearly as much as there is in Philly or the other side of the city with the Rangers.

If I was Bryzgalov I would sign cheap with any team who could use a 1A-1B goaltending situation, especially considering he needs to prove himself again. He definately needs to shut up and focus on playing better. This all of course depends on whether or not he wants to stay in the NHL.

Like it or not, the Isles seem satisfied with their goaltending situation.

The one factor that could change that would be a training camp injury.

The isles have a good thing going for the first time in awhile. No reason to disrupt it with such a big distraction.

Yeah, I'm surprised a team with ? goalie issues hasn't signed Bryzgalov yet. He might be a bit out there but he's still a quality #1 goalie.

If we did pick up Bryzgalov, the post game interviews with Stan would be spectacular.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea for Isles to sign him. Nabby will retire soon and Bryz could definitely rebound to become a good #1 again (like I wouldn’t necessarily count on that happening, but there’s still a good chance). Unless of course they are absolutely confident in Poulin.

1 year? Maybe that makes sense.

I'm of a mind, however, that Bryz is the type of guy who's going to get worse and worse as the NHL's equipment office starts reducing pad sizes.

No way, don't need a head case.

and he doesn't like our beaches.

A reporter asked Bryz if he was going to go to Jones Beach on his day off, as backup Steve Mason got the start:

The Russian goalie sat up straighter on his stool and went into a short sermon on nearby beaches.
“You can call it whatever you want, but it’s not a beach,” Bryzgalov said. “A beach is somewhere in the Caribbean, somewhere in Florida where it’s warm and you can swim. Here is dark water.”

Reporters laughed as Bryzgalov talked with a twinkle in his eye and a half smile on his face, then most walked away because head coach Peter Laviolette was ready to do his morning interview.

OK terrific.

Stupid Brytz. Doesn't he know it's the same water and that oceans are humongus big?
