The responses from the unsigned pair in TOR is somewhat weird to me. That much talk from players during negotiation? It's almost airing dirty laundry.

It is Toronto, the media around the Maple Leafs is intense. It is like the media in New York around the Yankees. I'd take it with a grain of salt.

These alternate jerseys can be pretty ugly. I don't know what they're thinking sometimes.

The whole "cape" effect on the back of the Buffalo jerseys looks ridiculous.

Third jersey uniforms are lame, man. They look like waiter uniforms.

Brian Burke will be named Flames boss at noon today. Calgary spoke to JD about the same role in the summer of 2012. They spoke to Brendan Shanahan in June. President of Hockey Operations role. Jay Feaster remains GM but the new guy is in charge of everything hockey related. That was the job description when JD and Shanny interviewed for it. Shanny turned it down. Don't know what happened with JD. He is from Calgary. Maybe he didn't want to live and work in the west with the travel. That guy has lived in the States for his entire adult like except for 2 years when in the early to mid 80s when he worked for HNIC as a broadcaster before returning to NY in 1986. Maybe he didn't like the Flames ownership led by the hawkish Murray Edwards. Burke will feel comfortable with that guy because they were on the same side in the lockout. Burke pushed for the cap recapture penalty in the CBA. The Flames need a total rebuild. Burke isn't the most patient guy for a rebuild. He isn't a young guy. Its Burke's 3rd job running a team in Canada.

Probably a good move for Calgary, I like Burke. Anyone that can step in and stop Feaster from destroying that team anymore is surely welcome in Calgary.

It's not like Feaster had a ton to work with....

I think Burke will help them as well. He isn't the brightest bulb but he gets his teams to a certain identity point by shear hard-headedness.

Mike Modano married Joe Micheletti's daughter. Modano was drafted a year before she was born.

As a lifelong NYR supporter, but living here in Calgary, all I can say is I could not agree more.
Feaster came in with a reputation as a real hockey guy, but I just don't see that. However, upper management is very much to blame for the Flames' stagnation too.
They need some shaking up. Whether Burke is the answer or not, a lot of Flames diehards do not know, nor do I.

One thing we know -- it should be interesting.

Kadri is not very intelligent. He is either listening to bad advice, or refusing good advice.
I always thought he had a screw or two loose. He is becoming his own worst enemy.

Feaster didn't have a lot to work with, but he certainly hasn't made the best choices.

Dayum that's a high defense. Is there an overall rating for the defense?

I think it's 4.5 stars but it might be 4 not 100%

Basically it's similar to HF's ranking except instead of like a 7.0B they use stars and colors. Where the B equals probability of success the color represents accuracy, so I guess they're not real similar but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Jeff Halpern Wants The Opportunity To Play

Quote:
Jeff Halpern spent this summer just like he has any other, readying himself for a new NHL season with early-morning workouts and a tough skating regimen. But with training camps set to open around the league in less than a week, the veteran center still doesn’t know if he will have a place to play.
NHL GMs are so stupid
