Andronov for me. I think he has a decent shot of being a 4th liner in a year or two (if he stays in NA).

Went with Beach. He is crazy and will be a good 4th-liner. Plus I am more familiar with him than Andronov.

Whatever combination we have of Reaves, Beach, Sobotka, Porter, Lapierre in a couple years on the 4th-line...Wow are they gonna cause havoc.

Beach, then Tesink.

MacEachern dropped quite a bit in my book. He didn't look too impressive at all the two times I saw him live last season and 8 goals and 21 pts in 50 games in the USHL the year AFTER being drafted is pretty disappointing. He was an average USHLer...not something you'd like to see from a kid that's on the older side of the USHL, especially for someone that's supposed to have NHL potential. I'll be interested to see how he adapts to the college game at Michigan St. this year. Still, he's a way down the list for me.

MacEachern. Notwithstanding IA's comments, if the kid makes it he's not a fourth liner. Fourth liners are cool and all but they're as dime a dozen as it ever gets. That's why I have him above Beach.

I think after a big year at Penn State, Gardiner deserves this spot. 22 points in 27 games isn't too shabby for a sophmore year. He definitely worked himself back on the radar. MacEachern for me is where Gardiner was last year, but not a bad pick here at this point either. Andronov is a good pick here as well.

I don't think people properly understand that Penn State is miles lower an NCAA team than Minnesota. They literally just got a hockey program, before that it was a club sport there. He wasn't even the leading scorer on a glorified college club team. It was not an impressive year in any way.

In complete agreement an all fronts. Who do you have after Tesink?

I would say a grouping of Andronov, Gardiner and then Pochiro. Then Tremblay, Walters, MacEachern & Ponich I guess. I don't have Lehtera on my list. He's about as useful to the Blues at this point as Barulin and Alexandrov IMO. I understand some are ranking him just on his talent, ignoring the fact that there's virtually no chance he uses that talent in the NHL, but I just don't think like that. Those different lines of thinking is what makes these polls interesting though.

While I agree with you on a majority of what you said, Penn State isn't really a team that totally sucks. All of their players that are new are from most large junior leagues including the USHL, AJHL, and BCHL. They recruited some pretty decent players, some of which had offers from bigger D1 hockey schools, yet they chose Penn to be on the top line, instead of burried in a top schools depth chart.

That said, I agree with you that Gardiner isn't really a top prospect at all, and probably won't ever make the NHL IMO.

MacEachern.

I'll never vote for Lehtera, since he will never play a single game in the Bluenote, and that's that.

We can agree to disagree. Like it or not, they are playing the better of the players that come out of high school, the USHL, etc. among other leagues. While they played their share of cream puffs, they also played the likes of Wisconsin whom they beat in one of the games with Gardiner assisting on 2 goals. The Blues took notice of it to mention him among their list of prospects in a recent article. Then again, what center can we get excited about?

Penn State is actually a decent team now, they've recruited a couple of decent junior players. That said, Gardiner isn't in the best of shape and struggles with his speed. I don't see him having much success in pro hockey. However, being one of the only true centers in the system, he may get solid ice time, more based on position not on his skill.

We still have a tie here. I'm giving it to the end of tomorrow for it to break.

Since people are voting for Lehtera you might as well add Konstantin Barulin to the list

I voted Lehtera because I think it's more likely he plays in the Note more than any of these other kids. He's got NHL talent, it's just a matter of getting him over here. Unlikely, but less unlikely than most of these prospects becoming NHLers for any more than 10 games, in my estimation.

Andronov could see a all up depending on injuries. He's big, fast, hits like a truck, and has a good shot.
