I'm not sure you really want to watch. Even a sunshine and lollipops commentator like Gene Principe was having a hard time finding anything positive to say about Nurse's performance the following day on Team 1260.

The kid should be sent back to the Sault after rookie camp and not even attend main camp. Hopefully he has a good season in junior and makes the Canadian Junior Team. Not much else to say.

MacT's big find - Andrew Miller - was also horrendous.
Can't say that I think this is a good idea. A bit of an over reaction to say the least. It may have happened in the past but in recent memory is there an example of a team not inviting their first rounder to main camp? This would be an awful good way to humiliate the kid if that is the intention. It isn't expected he will make the team but the experience of being around NHL players is going to do nothing but help in his development.

No, that was a grin, not a smile. No sporting event in Edmonton makes me happy these days.

Edmonton Eskimos are 1-9 btw.

I was just being tongue in cheek. So much was stated about it I just found sort of funny anybody would ask that question that way.

Man its been awful being a sports fan in Edmonton.

Hate to nitpick on a prospects tournament but its kinda laughable Marco Roy is the 4th line C tonight after the game he had. Would switch him and Schaber.

It's a good way to see just how dynamic he can be IMO. If he's as good as some are saying then he should be at main camp.

Can't look to much into them really. That's how they were tweeted out but if we were to arrange them traditionally I'd imagine they'd look like this:

Platzer - Khaira - Miller
Fyten - Roy - Houck
Kessy - Ewanyk - Bilckie
Baddock - Schaber - Chase

At any rate, I'd imagine ES TOI would be fairly level across the board.

The idea of Nurse being sent back to the OHL based off a meaningless game, is so bad. Like one of the worst ideas of all time proposed here.

Assuming you mean play in the NHL this year, not likely.

edit: Watch on the Oilers site.

Very true but its not only that one game , Dmen take alot longer to develop , I would rather he go back to the OHL for 2 more years and then we send him to the AHL one year . So three years from now is when I want to see Nurse in the NHL

The same ice size and right side he played on when he was named to the WJC All-Star team?

Was looking forward to seeing Nurse rebound tonight after the game he had but I'll have to wait another day.

At least Chase, Klefbom, and Khaira are all in..

It almost feels that if players do great in this tournament they're doomed for failure in the NHL.. Lander and Paajarvi both did great, RNH, Hall, and Eberle didn't so much..and look whose in the NHL doin great now..

I wonder why the best players suck so much at these, maybe because they're playing with a bunch of rookies that are out of position, sloppy, and scrambling everywhere? RNH seems to play better the higher the level of play is..for example he dominated in his rookie NHL season more than he did in the AHL, Junior, world Juniors, and Prospect + Preseason Tournament/games..
Which is why RNH should be on the 2014 olympic team..he thinks the game at such a high level..his play suffers when he's playing in an out of position, scrambly type exhibition game.

I don't like that they aren't playing Nurse. This is the player everyone wants to watch, let us watch him. I know there is a bunch of defenseman but I'd much rather see Musil or even Marincin out then him.

Somebody tell Todd Nelson that its Saturday Night in Canada, everybodies watching, its our number 1 pick, and damn well play Nurse instead of two scrubs like Brandon Davidson and Joey Leach. If you must sit Nurse maybe on a monday night or something..

end/ selfish rant mutter, mumble, spew..

Who knows, maybe Nelson wants Thursday nights suck to really sink in for Nurse, so he comes out banging tomorrow.

I actually liked what I saw from Nurse, you can see the potential he has, his skating is awesome..he moves so effortlessly...it's just about figuring out the pro game..kinda like Hall in his first 15 games as an Oiler, he was all over the place overplaying everything and not really getting points but nobody was worried because his level of skill and compete was so obvious, it was just a matter of time.

Am I the only one who thinks sitting Nurse after one game so he can take in everything and kick ass tomorrow night against Vancouver is a good thing? Yes?

I think so too. Its not like these games actually mean anything. What is Nurse going to learn in this short tournament from watching?
More lessons to be learned on the ice imo.

I agree that rust could be expected due to the time his recovery took, what I don't want to hear is a short story of detailed excuses. Particularly the "wrong side and small ice" excuse. At the WJC hosted here and Calgary (thus small ice surface) he was paired with Brodin most often and played primarily on the right side (from the games I saw at least). He was good enough to be an All-Star among his peers, therefore I don't feel it's a legit excuse (even though he may be more comfortable on the left side on international size rinks). Rust and jitters I can buy though. I just hope we don't see it again.
