Someone in white needs to really hurt someone in blue here.

He was going to play there anyways.

There is no way he'd outplay Smid, Ference, NSchultz or Grebshkov.

He'll get some games, but he's got an uphill climb to get a full-time job.

I thought our team was the supposed goons. That hit was dirty as hell.

6-0. It's possible to defend our rookie's forward depth being a bit depleted due to some are already with the big club and some of them are in Russia. However, we got very little promising goaltenders in the system and goaltending depth at all comparing to the Jets (Comrie) and Flames (Ortio, Gillis and Brossoit).

Starting from the top with Dubnyk not even being an established #1 in the NHL, and a journeyman backup in LaBarbera, we may have the absolute worst goaltending depth of all teams in the NHL.

How can you play this poorly in a rookie tournament. Do you not want to play in the NHL?

I thought the general consensus around here was that he would likely start the year in the Ahl then be called up at some point this season. I would say he is about on schedule for that to be the case. The talent is there and if you have any kind of eye for it you would see the glimpses he has shown, it's just a matter of him getting up to speed. My opinion of him is the same as before these 2 mean nothing games. I'll be surprised if he isn't with the big team at the end of the season.

I won't say we're swimming in goaltending depth, buy Roy and Tuohimaa aren't exactly chopped liver. We should've drafted a goalie this year though.

These guys play just like the real Oilers. Slow, soft, disinterested. No shooting, no creativity, no forecheck. Ugh.

Klefbom showed flashes of brilliance while knocking off rust and showing rust in that period. IMO Marco Roy is the most talented non 1st round Oilers pick to play in the Penticton Tournament since its inception. If he can get a little thicker and stronger he will be a very solid NHL player. Absolutely loving Kessy in this game, Khaira is showing a lot of good things as well, with a little more speed he should be a solid NHLer in time. Gernat IMO is showing a lot of good things out there as well. Bilke could be a decent heavy/light heavy at the pro level, he moves pretty well for his weight class. Liking Ewanyk's compete level as well out there, seems like a solid future 4C to me. Miller IMO has been a pretty big disappointment at this point considering his age.

My wish list for the 2014 draft has now focused on a goalie. At first it was a center but Roy, Khaira and the three musketeers (these goalies) are changing that. Man I wish we got Fucale..

Marco Roy is just super-skilled and, in my books, is the best forward in this tournament that I have seen.

He generates something everytime he's on the ice, although nothing is going in, and he's playing with unskilled players.

Miller actually has some jump tonight compared to the game against Calgary, so, even though he still isn't making much happen, at least he looks involved.

Roy is impressing me so much we should be having a serious look at him at main camp.

He could be our Ryan O'Reilly.

Agreed. I'm still a firm believer. You can see him making good reads but being that moment off at times. It'll come with some more games. I'm happy to see his shoulder not seeming to be an issue at all.

Better period but we're getting killed by our goalie. The boys on D started to take over the game for us, sadly we lack guys with real finish up front. Comrie also looks great, no juicy rebounds at all.
