Drafting goalies is a waste of a pick.
There is always capable NHL goalies on the market and its been proven that you don't need an elite NHL goalie to win cups.
Niemi, Crawford, Thomas, MAF all have a cup and none of those guys are elite goalies.

Absolutely loving Kessy in this game, Khaira is showing a lot of good things as well, with a little more speed he should be a solid NHLer in time. Gernat IMO is showing a lot of good things out there as well. Bilke could be a decent heavy/light heavy at the pro level, he moves pretty well for his weight class. Liking Ewanyk's compete level as well out there, seems like a solid future 4C to me. Miller IMO has been a pretty big disappointment at this point considering his age.
Unbelievable take considering your view on Sam Gagner who was, is, and always has been in an entirely different ballpark.

People here getting excited about Marco Roy? Seriously?

I know you love prospects but you seem to peg almost any player as "a solid NHLer in time".

There could be that theres 1, or 2 NHL players in this Oilers lineup.

He could be our Ryan O'Reilly.
IMO there's no room for Marco at this point, not that he isn't good enough, but give him another year in the Q, maybe he could even get invited to Canada's WJC camp? The kid is the most skilled Oilers forward prospect that I've seen at this tournament not named Eberle, Hall, or RNH.

Did Gagner play in Penticton? IIRC there wasn't a Penticton tournament back then. At the same age Roy looks stronger and better defensively to me, that said WTF does Gagner have to do with Marco Roy? The kid looks like a very talented player.

Also we definitely have more than 1 or 2 future NHLers on this team.

Looks like a waterbug that would get killed in the NHL. Hardly noticeable at this level.

Holy crap... just tuned in.

I guess we need another 5-7 years of high draft picks to be able to ice a half decent prospects roster.

When does anything Replacement say not have something to do with Gagner.

The fact of the matter is, Marco Roy has been a bright spot on an otherwise garbage core of forwards. He's one of like two forwards to get excited about in the system.

Seriously frustrated because Andrew Miller is "supposedly" according to our GM a candidate for the big team.

No freaking way.

I get that some folks are trying to keep a level head about this but considering that the "big" club is still junk it is a little concerning to see our prospects being schooled like this. If the Oilers were making significant strides at the NHL level I wouldn't give a crap about these kids being beaten up in a prospects tournament. As it stands we need some of these players to pan out.

Hopefully Winnipeg takes mercy on the Oilers and scores one in their own net.

What has he actually done. I see a zero on the board. Has he had a point yet in this tourney? Just asking because homer fans here are suggesting he's been the best forward in the tournament.

Haven't seen enough of Tuohimaa recently to know what he can be. However, imo Olivier Roy has a ceiling of a back up NHLer.

Bunz is our best goaltending prospect right now and he probably would only be 3rd or 4th on the Jets and Flames prospect depth charts at best.

Of course its concerning. Jets are better than us in the NHL and here. Is there some other level I'm not seeing..

Ok so Winnipeg has a demonically good goalie in net... that explains it all.

He sure as hell isn't the best forward in the tournament, unless who ever said that meant he was our best forward in the tournament.
