Palazzese reminds me of Roloson a bit.

Palazzese looks better than our drafted goaltending prospects thus far. Bunz has probably been my biggest disappointment in this tourney.

Wouldn't mind the Oilers bringing him into the org, he's looked good.

No game misconduct for an untied jersey ?

Yeah, Palazzese looks solid so far. Much better than our swiss cheese tenders in the last two games.

Nice pass and good physical play by Khaira there. Only forward I'm closely watching on the Oilers, just because it's hard to keep up with all the jersey numbers haha

Khaira definitely looks like he could be a valuable bottom 6 player in the future.

Khaira getting held and interfered with around the end boards by #80 Anderson. No call. Then goes to dump another Canuck.

Miller shoots super wide.

Platzer... dunno what that was. Not sure whats worse, if that was a pass attempt to nobody or a muffin of a slapshot. Also had a glorious chance early off a broken pass play attempt from Chase/Roy.

Agreed with you guys. Really liking Khaira especially physically, very strong player.
Nurse also looks a lot more comfortable today. Such a good skater for a big man.

Considering the lack of skill and potential amongst the forward group, I've been impressed with Khaira and Roy's play throughout the tourney. Both have shown hustle and compete while making some really nice plays in the offensive zone.

I know that Moroz has his detractors but really wanted to see him out there on a line with Ewanyk. It's too bad about his injury.

Palazzese played very well here last year. I'd be happy to see the Oiler offer him a deal.

Skates so well for his size, for any size for that matter. Head up the whole way too.

Khaira is young too. He just turned 19 last month. He is also still probably growing into his body as he had a major growth spurt not that long ago.

Khaira is a strong kid, that's a great trait to have in this organization. Roy hasn't been as good today but he's still one of our better forwards. Really liking Nurse's mobility out there, kid can really move out there. Betker too although I'd like to see him a bit more physical. Our goalie is much better than yesterday's goalie by the looks of it. Loving Kessy and Ewanyk always wanting to mix it up.

My game notes thus far ...

  • Nurse looking so much better and more confident than in Game 1. Good to see.
  • It's nice to see some competent goaltending. The save percentage in the first 2 games of this tournament was 0.813.
  • Did anybody notice who it was who came all the way back in the zone to check the Vancouver player who picked Pallazesse's pocket? Marco Roy is the correct answer. I read a scouting report on him from before the draft, and he is considered an excellent defensive player in the Q. I guess his coach really emphasizes the 2 way game.
  • Betker looks like a better prospect than Musil, although he did fumble one puck in his own end, and whiffed on a check at the blueline. Pretty solid prospect for where he was picked.

It's night and day for Nurse today. Maybe Klefbom was the problem?

Agreed on Nurse , Good to see. This goalie has played way better than Bunz or that other guy from yesterday.

Khaira again is having another good game. I really like what I have seen from him the last 3 games. We really need someone like him to turn out for us.

We'll see how he looks the rest of the way, if he does well he could well earn that contract.

He doesn't look awkward which tells me that he's past that stage.

He seems to possess mental toughness which is a quality that goaltenders need to take the next step into the pros. Hopefully he can keep it up. We need more goaltending options in the system.
