  • Did anybody notice who it was who came all the way back in the zone to check the Vancouver player who picked Pallazesse's pocket? Marco Roy is the correct answer. I read a scouting report on him from before the draft, and he is considered an excellent defensive player in the Q. I guess his coach really emphasizes the 2 way game.
  • Betker looks like a better prospect than Musil, although he did fumble one puck in his own end, and whiffed on a check at the blueline. Pretty solid prospect for where he was picked.
Roy also drew a penalty and dished out a hard hit. A Jack of all trades. Betker also iced the puck, but he has some solid tools for sure. IMO he could be a real steal although I'd like to see him playing more physical.

Agreed, Bunz and Roy have been disappointing for me since they turned pro. They need to have a bounce back year. Our goaltending depth in the organization is disappointing.

Only watched the first game and the first period but I like...

This goalie far better than Bunz so far.

Khaira.

Roy obviously the most offensively talented but nothing to get worked up about.

Gernat has been the best of all the D imo.

Davidson has had a great first period here so far.

Klefbom biggest disappointment.

Nurse not bad but not good either.

Maracin solid.

I've liked Roy, Khaira, Kessy, Ewanyk, and Bilcke so far in the tourney.

Also, I love listening to Dallas Eakins talk. This guy is something else man.

Yup, pretty much agree on what's been said so far. We're getting much better goaltending tonight, great rebound control. Nurse looks better, amazing skater. I really like Davidson, so calm and collected. The lack of skill up front really shows, outside the first line at times, none of the lines can keep any longer pressure in the offensive zone.
Kessy looks like he might turn into an ok 4th liner/13th forward, hopefully he can learn to PK properly.
Our PP and PK has been pretty horrible so far this tourny btw.
Cam Abney is just plain bad.

+1 to liking to listen Eakins talk. it's borderline Hollywood blockbuster monologue worthy every time.

curmudgeon mode on: know who was the guy well known for being a good speaker? Ralph Krueger.

Roy with another great shift, starting with a hit that forces a turnover.

Replacement's probably sitting on the john.

Roy! Tried to pass it cross crease to Chase after a wrap around attempt, it deflects in off a defender skate. Otherwise, Chase would obviously have snapped it in...

Kharia crushed a guy into the boards on the forecheck before that.

Yeah, beauty finish by Roy. Goes off two Nucks players into the net. He meant to do that.

Nurse got caught out there on an extended shift, looked like he was initiating the fire drill. He shouldn't have let up on his change, crushed the Canuck, and gotten off.

Platzer! Pops it up over a sprawled Nucks goaltender after a Joey Leach pointshot. 2-0 Baby Oil.

That Roy kid sure looks like a total idiot out there.

Once again, a bad misjudgment of talent

didn't you know that he was going to be a snooker player before some lean guy with four rings talked him into picking up hockey?

Chase is such a rat. That should no doubt be an instigator on Hope.
