Nurse definitely looks disappointing. I bet the scouting staff would pick different players if they could right now.

Nurse has shown good mobility and the ability to jump into the play, he doesn't look like the NHL is in his future this year but that shouldn't be a surprise as most D take some time to get to the next level.

What have you thought of Khaira? I must admit that I expected more of Gaunce and especially Jensen as Jensen was very solid in the last Penticton tournament.

I didn't watch game 2 so not sure if Klefbom picked his game up but...

I think Nurse has done > Klefbom so far.

Much younger to boot.

To say we bought into nonexistant hype at this point is ridiculous.

It's true the big difference I see between them is Eakins seems more likely to put your balls in a vice while Krueger was more of a nice guy, players type coach. Eakins just seems like an intense dude.

I wouldn't say that, he moves very well but he clearly needs to add more mass and strength to play the game that we want him to even at this level. In the meantime a guy like Klefbom will get broken in when he's ready.

You missed it. I'm temporary public enemy number 1 because I may have said something offhand about Roys potential.

I might've got away with it till now but not so sure..

Khaira has been solid, Really like what I am seeing. As for Gaunce, I just "mini" ripped him on our boards, not high on him at all, he is a pure defensive forward, bottom 6 forward.

Jensen actually has looked okay, He plays similar to michael samuelson, Shoots the puck everytime he has. He has played with more aggression which is nice tonight.

Which players have impressed you guys tonight from Van?

Sucks we did not see klefbom, really wanted to see him. blah

Oscar was playing against better players yesterday and IMO showed a little more both good and bad.

Klef is the infinitely better talent and not even close. Nurse needs to play tough and have physical advantage and impose himself. Klef somehow has more presence out there.. although not today of course

I was never enamoured with Krueger, even at the beginning. He just struck me as a guy that was outstanding at selling himself. I do think he's a competent assistant, but as a head coach it was obvious fairly quickly that he was in over his head...and I don't think his players ever bought into all of the PowerPoint slide presentations and positive thinking seminars he brought along with him.

Eakins might turn out the same, but for some reason I see something different with him. He's more direct, his message is far more focused and plain to see. Also, he's coming in with a 4 year deal, a show of faith from his employers that Krueger never had.

I wasn't high on Gaunce leading up to the draft TBH, Jensen though is a guy that I think will be a player. I was hoping to see Horvat tonight TBH to see what we may have missed out on or at least try to measure him against Nurse and vice versa.

Thanks, I haven't really keyed in on the Canucks as I wasn't expecting a discussion with a 'Nucks fan, Corrado seems to be involved a lot and your goalie has been solid. Not minding Maille as well, nice goal and he plays a chippy game.

Do the oilers play again after this?, Would like to see klefbom in action.

As for the canucks, I highly suggest you guys tune in tomorrow and watch Subban play. The kid play is literally identical to PK subban, but is a midget.

Good one.

Can't say I'm too impressed by Nurse, here's hoping for a better period.

Oilers kids head back to Edmonton to take on the UofA team on Tuesday night. Dunno if that game is televised or not.

WEll he's more in your face NA in approach. Which should translate better. But we gotta wait and see. I do think Eakins has just a big jump to make than Krueger and probably more because Kreuger had the time as assistant coach here before making the jump.

Eakins is in for a trial by fire and said so in the interview. At lest he knows. Theres going to be a lot of 12-16hr days.

You watch him play to assess? I was quite impressed by what I've saw from him. He does play a lot like his brother.
