Drouin made a beautiful play on the GWG to the Russian dude (im not even going to attempt to spell it). The highlights will be up later on the Panthers site so you guys can see it.

Relatively common actually. Players are trying to make an impression.

Canucks vs. Oilers

There was no official update about goalie Eric Brassard, who left Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Predators late in the second period with a left arm injury. He was seen icing the arm but indicated to the Lightning web site he is fine.

Let's just hope he doesn't get the Desjardins experience.

I didn't know much about Kucherov.

His stat sheet is impressive though...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikita_Kucherov

53 points in 27 game sin QMJHL. Did well for Russia also.

He reminds me of Semin but with a better attitude. I am honestly stoked for this kid and I want him to get big minutes down in the A this year.

Jonathan Drouin returned to the lineup, after he was given a planned maintenance day Saturday, but was slotted at center on the top line with J.T. Brown and Nikita Kucherov, instead of at the wing

"We thought the first game he didn't touch the puck that much," said Lightning rookie tourney head coach Rob Zettler. "We thought if we moved him to center he might get more action on the puck because that's what we wanted. He's a very talented player with the puck."
Quote:
"I felt good," said Drouin. "Center isn't my main position, but the coaches and I talked before the game and a couple of adjustments were made and I think it went pretty good."
Quote:
"Kucherov and I had a lot of chemistry out there," said Drouin. "We made some good plays and today was a good day for our line."

"Drouin and Kucherov were kind of magical out there a few times too," added Zettler. "Some really nice chances and an unbelievable goal."

Zettler, who has mentioned that his competitive spirit has given him an "always win" attitude, can head back to Tampa Bay pleased, saying that despite it being the third contest in as many days, the Bolts rookies looked good from all angles and it was overall their best game to date.
Quote:
"I thought Tanner Richard played a really strong tournament on both sides of the puck offensively and defensively," he said. "I thought [Henri] Ikonen was really good and battled really hard and we have a tryout guy by the name of [Drew] Olson who impressed me. He kept working really hard and did a lot of the little things really well."

The game ended with a Lightning 2-1 victory, solidifying their crown as the Rookie Tournament Champions thanks to their 2-0-1 record (5 points). Florida which would have won the tournament with a victory, finished third overall with two points (1-2-0) while Nashville ended in second place (1-1-1, 3 points) and Boston finished tied with Florida in points (0-1-2, 2 points).
Quote:
Kucherov finished atop the tournament points race with seven points (4-3-7). He shared the goal-scoring lead with Bjugstad while the Florida forward (4-1-5) along with Boston's Spinell finished two points back of the Kucherov overall.

Looks like Olson is doing well after having switched from D to F. Zettler sounds impressed by him as well. Maybe he'll get a contract after all.

Anyone watching all the camps? Is 7 the most points so far? I believe is for 3 games detroits camp in traverse city has four games and think Kucherov is ahead of everyone still at 3 games so far.

Guess he wont stay so undervalued for much longer.

Wish we had plus minus numbers. Am very happy with our last game as said. Defense really improved all over.

Based on Drew Olson's tweet, I'm figuring he's been added to the main camp.

Great weekend in Coral Springs, rookie tournament was a success. Day off today and main camp starting Wednesday. #lightning

I think he only gets an AHL deal if we give him a contract. We're at 47 already most likely keep one for a waiver claim and two open for a trade, injuries and a college FA later in the season.
