Just saw that they've apparently added a gold stripe to the pants this year. Because there wasn't enough gold....

For some it's not that big of a deal. I do it all the time. However there are some big challenges. I think the hardest would be playing the guy coming in on the wing. Your stick is in the wrong hand, your transitions are the wrong way etc. Some hate playing the off side, right hand shot playing left side, others don't mind. I like playing the off side both d and wing.

Yeah, I prefer the off side too, especially with the puck.

The stripe looks really cool. After looking at that Seth Jones jersey on Cooper's twitter it looks like it should have always been there.

Yep, the gold is much more prominent on the gloves too. Noticed the stripe and the gloves at summer prospect camp, but the socks are definitely new for training camp.

Is there any way to get into the Meet the Team night, without being a season ticket holder, or are there any season ticket holders that cannot go and would like to give away their available ticket(s) to me and my fiance?

Those changes explain some of the pro-stock return equipment on ebay lately. A lot of the old style pants, a pair of Kostitsyn gloves in the new style. I prefer the changes on the road uniform. The stripe on the pants looks like a continuation of the jersey into the sock with the homes ... a bit too much of a solid gold line from shoulder to skate for my taste.

I really need a couple of pairs of Preds pants and a couple of mannequins and display jerseys during the season. Too bad my wife will NEVER go for that.

What's up Smashville? Any chance of my hometown kid Järvinen making the big team this year?

It is unlikely that he would make his debut out of camp, but with continued improvement this season Jarvinen should find himself in position for a potential recall if needed. Jarvinen should start the season in Milwaukee (AHL) this season.

Thanks for the info. How does the depth chart look for dmen?

EDIT: I was training in the same gym with Joonas the summer, and I can tell you he worked really hard. Look for a big improvement.

RTOTD: Thank god for goalie tryout Cody Reichard... without him Ryan Ellis would be smaller than all of our training camp goalies instead of only being smaller than 6 of 7.

Remember watching Reichard at Michigan. It amazed me every time how tiny he was.

How many of you are attending the Skate of the Union tomorrow? I was thinking, if a bunch, we can start a thread on it. There's usually great info there and those who go usually give great reports.

I just figured it out, Poile is trying to sign as many American born players as possible. 3 of the big 4 signings are American. Jones is American. It's his master plan to ice an all American roster.

Didn't work out very well for the Blackhawks back in the '30's.
