There's some video of Mez and others skating on Csnphilly.com by the way: http://www.csnphilly.com/video_conte...getting-better

Also has an interview with Lecavalier

I remember discussing it in here (just in case - if that's wrong thread, my apologies) sometime in July. There was a voluntary camp for Czech NHL players who could be invited to play at the Olympics, which was mistaken for an official camp (and those who have taken part were mistaken to be the only players on the preliminary roster) - our coach has released a preliminary roster yesterday, 67 names on it. Vorabeast included.

Definitely. I said it because when in July someone posted the info about the supposed preliminary roster, a few people were surprised Voracek hadn't been on that list

I think Mez and his doctors have declared him healthy to practice, but part of CBA, IIRC, includes an 'official' medical at the start of Training Camp. This is what he has to pass next week, along with all of his other teammates. Might even be a more rigorous process for guys who ended the year on the disabled list.

If he says he's good, and Homer says he's good, he's good to go.

In a trade, probably.

Dude is paper mache....I don't trust him to be healthy for long. Injuries may be behind him but more like a monkey on his back. He is Scott Walker redux. Trade him before body parts start falling off of him like a leper...

I imagine Voracek playing with Jagr again could only do him more good

If Mesz is fit, keep him. He was damn good when he could walk.

2 years ago surely? We don't need him to be top pairing, just to hold a 4/5 spot competently for a year.

I don't usually get geeked out by goalie masks, and I'm more inclined towards the more abstract masks vs. those with portraits on them, but that is a great mask.

His cap hit is just way too high for a 4th/5th spot, and we need space cleared.

As per philly.com:
"New assistant general manager Ron Hextall said Friday the Flyers were looking at "three or four" veterans to invite to camp. Hextall said he did not know whether Simon Gagne, 33, would be one of those invites. Other free agents on the market include defenseman Ron Hainsey and left wing Brenden Morrow."

I usually don't get too hyped over masks...I couldn't care less..but that one is very classy and clean. I like it....I hope to see it a lot when Emery wins the starting job

I really like this. Can't imagine any will get roster spots, but it'll be great for the younger guys to play alongside these guys, and it may improve the Flyers' standing with FAs in the league if they're going out of their way to show off veterans in preseason for them to potentially get jobs elsewhere.

If Morrow can skate at all, I'd love him on this team.

HBO is doing a 24/7 series for all the WC's this upcoming year including the Heritage Classic in Canada plus doing one for the Olympics in Sochi as well.

God I love HBO, the Olympics one should be really interesting.

quick question for those who attend games.

I want to sit close to the action, but not too close as the glass I find can/has get in the way, how many rows up from the glass is the safe bet? 7? 12?

TIA

It depends where you're sitting. If you're in the centre sections, Id say rows 12-15. However, if you're behind the net, where the glass is higher, 15-18 is where Id want to sit.
