If they had showed up in the 1st half they'd have had a better shot at winning. Just fell into too big of a hole.

The offense has potential, the defense is bad as always.

If the offense plays like this for an entire game, they'll be fine. You just can't fumble and get picked against the Eagles, giving them gifts with such a short field to work with. That's 14 points there.

Now Griffin has a pad in his left arm sleeve. How cute.

He should have ran out, but the game was over after they failed on 4th and 15.

That just shows you how this game could have turned just like that. If they convert on 4th and 2 it could have been a 6 pt game. They tried hard to come back today, just fell short.

Catching passes on the sidelines and not getting out bounds, and trotting back to the line of scrimmage instead of running so you can get 1 more play off before the 2 min warning, excellent sense of urgency.

A positive is Griffin is getting in synch with his WR's. Hope that means no slow starts against GB.

What a throw. To little to late I am afraid.

If you were to tell me that this team would fight back from 33-7 to 33-27 I'd have said you'd be crazy, esp. with the way the offense looked at the time. Yes, the Eagles mailed it in in the 2nd half. But this game amazingly is not over, and reminds me of those "losses" last year. The team lost, but they lost fighting hard and giving it their all. They had a chance to win all of those games except the Steelers game and the playoff game.

Eagles took their foot off the gas. Nothing positive from the Skins on this night IMO, NOTHING.

Yes, they didn't give up. And you take away the turnovers and the unknown that was Kelly's offense and the Boys probably win.

The Skins were the guinea pigs for Kelly's offense. Now its on tape, and I have to believe when these two teams meet again this year things will be a bit more even.

Caps or the Skins feelings are always on the extreme edge one way or the other on this site.

Playing GB next we will see soon if this was Griffin rust contributing to a loss, or the team got lucky last year.

One team tried hard to lose in the first half. The other tried hard to lose in the second. The whole division has looked like crap this week.

Displeased about Kerrigan. Pleased to see hankerson step up

At least they showed something offensively, but playing a pissed off GB next week isn't reassuring.

The offense looked remarkably better in the 2nd half, even with the Eagles bringing pressure. RG3 got sacked a fair amount of times in that half, and he was still able to lead the team downfield. They nearly won the game too, if Trent doesn't false start and the Redskins convert that 4th down late, the Redskins would have won.

In the end, it came down to that, and the 2 turnovers early. The first play of the game offensively, Morris fumbles the football and gives the EAgles a short field to work with. I hope that is an aberration. I give huge credit to the offense for responding in a strong way. Those games would have been over pre-RG3. Remember the Eagles - Redskins MNF game a few years ago?

The defense looked poor early, but what defense looks good against the Eagles when they come out there firing like that, with a message to prove? They were running a rapid-fire offense, getting gifts from the Redskins. There were 14 points that shouldn't have been on the board if the Redskins had just avoided turnovers. Was a little surprised the Eagles decided to take their foot off the gas offensively, but whatever. It showed that the Redskins offense was largely afflicted by rust from RG3 facing his first NFL defenders since January. You could tell the offense was a lot better in the 2nd half, and that's an offense that can win you games.

I'm going to pretend the first half never existed, based on rust. Counting RG3's 2nd half stats, he played well. I think this team will be fine.

No they never "nearly won the game"....sorry.

I expected RG3 to be rusty, not the rest of the team to suck too...

RG3 still has all of his extremities.

They nearly won the game because RG3 led them to about midfield before succumbing to 4th and 15, which happened because of a Trent Williams false start. There are so many hypotheticals about that, and the first half too (What if Morris doesn't fumble on the damn first play of offense from scrimmage)

When you play the Eagles you have to keep that offense off the field, not give them back the ball with a short field. I think those mistakes are correctable. I think Morris will regain his form and RG3 will continue to play well. He didn't really look injured out there, and when he was passing from the shotgun, he looked pretty effective.

I'm not worried at all about the offense. The defense worries me and the main reason why the bleeding stopped was because the Eagles voluntarily took their foot off the gas.

Actually, I think the defense held up reasonably well, considering the spot the offense put them in. The fatigue factor of the Eagles' fast paced attack was magnified greatly by the 'Skins offense inability to sustain drives.

GB is going to ruin this coverage.

I'm really pissed about the rest of the team sucking. 3 I can get...but its not like everyone else misses preseason. Garbage.

I didn't think the defense could be worse than last year.
