Last year wasn't a traditional training camp due to the lockout. It was pretty much just the team plus a few guys who were getting looked at for call ups.

The things you have to do to get a simple invite, which Dunn did.
Wikstrand not on the roster. Clearly team has given up on him. Lindberg and Hogberg not present. Can we ever ride ourselves of this cancer?

This is what I'd like to see by the end of camp

Michalek - Spezza - Ryan
MacArthur - Turris - Zibanejad
Conacher - Pageau - Condra
Greening - Smith - Neil

Methot - Karlsson
Wiercioch - Phillips
Cowen - Corvo

Or something like that

Stop trying to make Zibanejad as a winger happen, it's not going to happen.

I think there's more chance we see Pageau at C and Zibby at RW than seeing Pageau at Wing.

Pageau plays Centre exactly the way it's supposed to be played. Watch him carefully, he plays the position masterfully.

We need to stop drafting people who weren't born within 90 minute of Ottawa. Especially Europeans, thats way too far

Exactly, and I see Mika's style eventually translate better at wing.

Who Gets Cut First:

Goaltenders: This is pretty easy to figure out this yr.
CHL - Dreidger & Brassard
Elmira - Greenham
Bingo - Lawson & Hammond
Ottawa - Anderson & Lehner

Defencemen: Also easy to figure out
CHL - Harpur
Elmira - Blood, New (whoever doesn't make Ottawa will have a shot in Bingo, then Elmira)
Bingo - Ceci, Boroweicki, Claesson, Rutkowski, Eckford, Sdao, Wideman
Ottawa - Karlsson, Methot, Phillips, Wiercioch, Cowen, Gryba & Corvo

Forwards: This is a little harder to determine (Maidens - Long term disability?)
CHL - Dunn & Lazar (although he could get a few NHL games before being sent back)
Elmira: Hobbs, Culek, Karlsson, Kramer
Bingo: Hoffman, Da Costa, Stone, Prince, Pageau, Petersson, Robinson, Puempel, Grant, Schneider, Cowick, Dzuirzynski & Hamilton
Ottawa: Michalek, Spezza, Ryan, MacArthur, Turris, Greening, Conacher, Zibanejad, Condra, Z. Smith, JOB, Neil & Kassian

- IMO one of Pageau, Hoffman & Stone have a shot at making the Ottawa roster if something is done with JOB (waivers, trade or bought out). Otherwise, I doubt Ottawa carries a 23 man roster past the 10 game mark due to that internal budget. If Cowen doesn't sign I expect Boroweicki to stay in Ottawa until he does.

I don't know this answer, but I would assume he would have to be, or he may not be Insured.

Why cant we move Smith to wing and have Pageau and Zibanejad both play centre?

Or why can't they all split time? Or why can't we be realistic that injuries do happen?

People act here like a guy wins the 3rd line centre role in training camp and plays that role for 82 games.

I don't think Smith will play a lot of center this year. A transition to wing could be great for him. He can just focus on forechecking and shooting.

Exactly. The kid uses the middle of ice brilliantly with his speed, vision, work ethic and defensive ability.

I seriously wonder what's the kid's ceiling.

Regardless of Pageau's situation, Zibanejad is going to be groomed as a center.

OK?!?!

Greenham played for my highschool hockey team. Would be cool to see him earn a spot in bingo. Longshot, but still cool
