I think we all do but theres nothing we can do if they do bring in Mac or another useless goon like him. It seems like an Oiler move to me.

You know after going on hockeyfights.com and checking out the Marlies I see Acton was 3rd with 6 fights. Something tells me Konopka won't be coming here as the Oilers think Acton is just about ready to make that next step.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 1m
Hearing BUF has told teams it is willing keep some of Thomas Vanek's salary -- providing Sabres get a deal they like.

Vanek with an extension would have made some sense before Perron but there is obviously no room now for a winger making a 1st line salary. We really need to focus on getting a solid two-way winger like Moss (perfect role player for us!) who can play some PK, chip in a little offensively, and won't break the bank.

Just to clarify I am by no way suggesting him to Edmonton, just posted some random news.

Dan Tencer‏@dantencer Re: Oilers search for a tough guy. Absolutely true, as CHED reported in July. Jay Rosehill, Anthony Peluso the template for what they'd like

In all honesty I wanted them to pick up Peluso last year when he was on waivers. Hmm I wonder who is available like that?

EDIT: Besides maybe Konopka

They can easily sign Ryan Whitney as a LH puck moving guy.

Cam Barker is also available

Someone on twitter mentioned the injury that Pitkanen had ended someone's career awhile back, wonder how bad it is.

Enter Philly IMO. They will be first in line.

I am not a Nick Schultz at all by any means but this is horrible for us even though we rid of his cap hit. Carolina would need to add a pick/prospect at least to make it worthwhile. I would rather have a legit NHLer in Schultz on the bottom pair then
Potter or unknowns like Belov, Garbagekov and Larsen. I give them Potter straight up for Westgarth.

I guess it would make a bit of sense if they would target a winger like Kulemin with the extra cap space.

Not exactly sure why, but it appears as if there is some complication between Daniel Cleary and PHI. Told he will not be joining Flyers.

It's not like Rosehill or Peluso are any better. Odd comparison by Tencer

The difference between Konopka and Acton is that Konopka is an NHL 4th liner while Acton is an AHL 4th liner. If Acton even plays one game, it should immediately be dismissed as nepotism.

Yes we know you think this.

Maybe it's just Eakins keeping his go to shutdown responsible center?

I guess, I mean they are spending nothing close to the cap and Schultz is a much better and more veteran defenseman then Potter.

He's a UFA at the end of the year, so it's far from a major investment, especially seeing as they lost a top-4 guy. Not saying Schultz is that, but he is more so then Potter.

So what is it?

A) Failed his physical
B) Flyers Salary Cap problem(s)
