I agree and even defensively he hasn't been bad. I thought he was going to be a liability on a shiftly basis but he looked okay in the games against Moncton. He's going to be a star in this league. Very gifted player.

Few people think the Wildcats will finish last thus they are overrated.

Travis Howe. Where do I start LOL. He's the biggest punching bad I've seen in awhile. In pre season fights , the guy went 1-5-1 getting embarrassed by the likes of Zachery Whitlock , 17 year old Tanner McCabe , Curtis McGregor and getting dropped by Kyle Haas. You're right when you consider him the most "feared fighter" , he's terrified of playing Moncton or having to fight
I'd be very surprised if any player has more fighting majors than Howe this year. I think that's pretty respectable.

I fully agree with this. He was one of the reasons why Saint John didn't lose 10-0 every game in the playoffs. I expect him to breakout soon

I'd consider his breakout happened last season. Went from being a nobody back up to establishing himself as one of the league's best goaltenders all while playing on a bottom feeding SJ squad...

1. The Favorite to win the President's Cup Baie-Comeau Drakkar
2. The team that will finish last Saint John Sea Dogs
3. The team most overrated Rimouski Oceanic
4. The team most underated Victoriaville Tigres
5. The best player William Carrier
6. The player most overrated Anthony Mantha
7. The player most underrated Angelo Miceli
8. The player most likely to have a "breakout" season Francis Perron
9. Rookie to watch Jason Bell
10. Best Goalie Sebatian Auger/Brandon Whitney
11. Most overrated goalie Francois Tremblay
12. Most underrated goalie Sebastien Auger
13. Best Defenseman Dillon Fournier
14. Most underrated defenseman Jimmy Oligny or Mac Weegar
15. Most overrated defenseman Matt Murphy
16. Best head coach Dominique Ducharme
17. Most overrated coach Serge Beausoleil
18. Best or most feared/respected fighter There is none
19. Best Jerseys Val-d'Or Foreurs
20. Worst Jerseys Gatineau Olympiques

Reasonings:

- I believe Auger is the best and most underrated... Not a lot of talk about him but he and Whitney are the best at what they do in this league.. too bad auger hasn't gotten pro considerations. Peppered every night and gets the job done, although he won't get much help from the players in front of him again.

- I believe any one of Weegar, Oligny and Fournier could emerge as the leagues new top defender.
- Matt Murphy was hyped and picked high in the Q draft, and has a lot of raw talent and incredible skating ability, but has yet to put it all together... It's his 18yo season though, so a chance for him to breakout into the player we know he could be.

- there is no most feared fighter, Noreau is gone, and there is no apparent bully in the league really. Surprised no one has said Nevins or Lewis, as they to me seem like the most intimidating players and can chuck. Haas can fight, Howe.... Who is that? And Alcalde is not an intimidating figure in this league.

- If Drouin comes back, answers to #1 and 5 change.

Hmmm, I'm having a hard time trying to decipher which team is your least favorite....

How are both goalies overrated? Because of the logo on their chest? Please, McDonald made Team Canada's U18 team, and posted decent numbers on a tremendously terrible defensive team last year... Maybe you just hate Bathurst, lol.

I'm still puzzled as to why people are voting them overrated when in fact everyone knows they're in rebuild mode and will finish near the bottom.

4. The team most underrated - Charlottetown
7. The player most underrated - Deverick Ottereyes
8. The player most likely to have a "breakout" season - Alexis Pepin

Not hard to tell what team you cheer for

15. Most overrated defenseman - Danick Emond

How's he overrated. Most would agree he's average at best.

18. Best or most feared/respected fighter - Travis Howe/Trey Lewis

I can understand Trey Lewis but Travis Howe ?!? Are you kidding me. He went 1-5-1 on his preseason fight card , getting beat by guys likes Whitlock and McGregor. He's been a complete punching bag that anyone will fight because he isn't for one second intimidating. The only way you can put feared in the same sentence as Howe is if you saying he's the one scared.
Just my thoughts.

Even Stephane Leroux (who had got a total aversion for LGM through the years) is saying the Titan should finish 2nd in this Division.

Some are putting way too much stock in the preseason championship

I see Neil Hodge is also trying to stir the pot a bit.....he has Saint John 2nd, which is debatable, and Bathurst last

Both goalies couldn't stop a beach ball last year so that's why they are overrated. I put them as overrated and in last place because they don't have anyone who can actually score and if McDonald and Brennan leave in 4+ goals a night how can they win? Explain to me how they will win with third and fourth line guys playing on the top two lines? They might have 2 guys that are actually top line guys. Do you think they are actually better without O'Brien, Bisonette, Brouillard and Beaudry?

After reading this thread, I think I'll change my most underrated goalie to Marvin Cupper.

He's a real good choice. He would have been #2 on my list.

Brennan's save % last season was 10th in the Q and, looking at the starters' list this season, he will probably go up that chart at 19 YO.

And it is no secret to say that MacDonald is a top-3 goaltender in the Q in terms of potential.....he was representing his country at the U-18....what else would you ask from him to convince yourself?

Your statement is borderline ludicrous.

PS: 2 guys being top line guys on a team means that they are missing ONE.
I suggest you review the lineups of Maritimes teams and you will quickly realize that 50% of them do not actually have a complete top line.

Brennan's certainly not off to a good start. He was horrible in Moncton on Sunday. Wouldn't be surprised to see MacDonald take over quicker than expected. Wonder what Bathurst's plans are in regards to goalies ?

Figured I'd bump this since we're at the 1/4 mark of the season.

There's been a few surprises early on.

Cape Breton and Charlottetown have both been surpassing expectations.

Peter Trainor hasn't been near as dominant as many predicted.

Shawinigan had a horrible start that took them forever to get a win.

Anthony Mantha has had an amazing start to the season.

Rimouski isn't first in the standings.

To many people's surprise , Jonathan Drouin was returned to Halifax , making them instant contenders.

Zach Fucale has struggles.

Another thing that is a surprise to one person in this thread and was abundantly obvious to everyone else is the Titan are attrocious.

CHSB you should pick up that phone, because we called it.

Trainor is 25 points behind Mantha despite playing in one more game.

Not worried about Fucale at all. He had a bad road trip in western Quebec; has been otherwise fantastic this year.

He's just not having the season most thought he would. I think a change of scenery would really do him good. Lots of rumours he's headed to the Remparts next week. Hearing anything on your end ?

Laplante is the kind of player Quebec should target for next season. What would he cost? Does Quebec has enough to trade for him?

They'd have enough but it's a matter of if they're willing to pay. Charlottetown would surely demand Donaghey or MacIntyre coming back and with Quebec building next season , they would want those players around...
