Hodgson Re-Signs (6 Years/ $4.25M AAV)

Wowzer

I figure him saying it is enough of a confirmed link. First time I've heard an announcement made via vine.

#Sabres Hodgson's new 6 year #NHL deal is worth 25.5M. Cap hit of 4.5M.

Edit. I just want to thank God, George Louis Costanza, John Franklin Candy, and HFBoards for giving me my first Stickied thread. It's a good day. I'll keep on eye on the Twitterverse for the terms of the deal.

Looks like he has been hitting the weights. Hard worker, top line player, former top 10 pick. North American. Perfect captain material.

If it's under 4.5, I'm stoked.

I am curious to see the term, as is probably everyone. It buys UFA years, so I'm not expecting it to be in the $4.25 M area. Something near $5M has been my expectation right along...

It has to be around $5 million per for Hodgson to agree to 6 years.

My guess is Tyler Myers money.

I'm happy he's a Sabre because I had a Hodgson jersey made last year, I think I was the only one wearing one and now I can wear it for another 6 years.

Contract wise: I'll let you know how I feel when I see what the AAV is..

Knowing Darcy we didn't get him at a steal.

My guess is 6 years $33 million, $5.5 per. Same as Myers.

Sure, but seeing as I've been vocally against this type of move, this isn't something that makes me happy.

That's my expectation as well. That will be a bargain if the cap keeps rising and Hodgson continues to grow as a player.

That's what I'm worried about because I think the Myers deal has been a train wreck until that lanky son of a gun starts throwing his weight around and taking his Calder form
