Charlie Sheen's 99 wearing character Wild Thing in Major League was not based on Mitch Williams. Mitch got his nickname from the movie and wore 99 with the Phillies as a Mark Gastineau fan paying tribute.

As opposed to mid-range jumpers and dunks? I mean, what do you expect, it's basketball.

College is nothing but 3 pointers, layups, zone defense, and a million block/charges a game. NBA sucks too, but was amazing until after the Lakers 3 peat. AAU culture and the elimination of the big man ruined basketball for me. Also the recent BFF super teams completely eliminated my interest in the NBA outside of the Bulls.

Pretty much. I barely even watch the Bulls anymore and I used to catch almost every game.

Cubs minor league season is over, Daytona Cubs won the FSL

Next year it sounds like it will be

Iowa - Baez, Alcantara
Tennessee - Bryant, Soler
Daytona - Almora

Will be interesting to see where Pierce Johnson and CJ Edwards start, they dominated in the FSL.

If they are healthy, I think there is a good chance both will.

Yeah, as long as they are healthy and the stuff is the same. Both 22, both dominated, time for a big challenge now.

Corey Black should also join them at AA.

The main group of the Cubs top prospects are 19-21. What a grouping.

World cup qualified. Mexico legitimately might not make it.

Feels good man.

If Panama can muscle out a draw at Azteca, US can tank and let Panama knock them out

Theo Epstein, Dale Sveum and Co. will return to Boston for the first time on June 30 as the Chicago Cubs play the Red Sox during a 2014 season that opens on March 31 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to the Major League Baseball schedule released on Tuesday.

Epstein spent 10 seasons as Red Sox general manager before taking over as Cubs president of baseball operations before the 2011 season. It will also be a Boston homecoming for Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer and vice president of scouting and player development Jason McCleod, who were also a part of Epstein's front office with the Red Sox. Sveum served as Red Sox third base coach during part of Epstein's tenure.

The Cubs played the Red Sox at Wrigley Field in 2011.

Yeah, it's just so strong. Great drafting and great trades for low minors talent.

Fire with a big game against a bad team. Huge 3 points they can't afford to give up.
