I most likely wont be. But I'm sure the talking heads will report. Also, I would take lines out there today with a grain of salt for now.

For example, Talbot is wearing white in the first session with McGinn, Leier, Johnston, and The Ghool. Although I'm sure Cleary was supposed to be in that group.

Sorry for the triple post but just look at Group C and they have Schenn, Couturier, Hartnell, and Read. After then their aren't any forwards that project to make the team so I would definite take these lines with a grain of salt.

Anyone going to the taping Friday?

I have a feeling I'm going to end up in Philly Live drinking alone unless one of you guys ante up and is willing to grab a beer. The taping is in the afternoon, but the signup for the Simmonds jersey is at 8am?

I'm fine with a one year deal for Morrow.

Next offseason is going to be huge for the Flyers with Kimmo probably gone, Meszaros gone, and both goalies coming off contract. (BSchenn will get a new deal but I expect his cap hit to remain about the same.) We don't want to be tied down to any more contracts that extended past the 13-14 season than is absolutely necessary.

He looked alright. Nothing spectacular and nothing really noticeably bad about him. One of the coaches talked to him quite often, more than any other player it seemed. It wasn't Lavi, Berube, or Cote. Don't know the other coaches name.

EDIT: Off the top of my head the lines (positions probably aren't correct):

Simmonds - Lecavalier - Raffl
Rosehill - Holmstrom - Mangene

and then a combination of McGinn, Talbot, Gool, Leier, and Johnston

Lauridsen - Gus
Streit - Morin
Manning - Hostetter

Nobody is to go near that man's hands. Between cut fingers and broken wrists, his two hands need to have a full-time security team.

Giroux said he feels a lot better than expected. Thinks 1 pre-season game is doable.

Didn't shoot, only passed lightly.

Michael Raffl....

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA – There was a rangy left wing wearing No. 12 at the first practice session on the first day of training camp Thursday morning.

It may not have been the No. 12 the fans were hoping for, but if the Flyers scouts are correct, this No. 12 could bring a new love affair between player and fan.

Meet Michael Raffl, the sniper winger whom the Flyers signed last May.

Raffl, 24, made his first appearance in a Flyers jersey at that first session and even though it was just one practice, the Flyers like what they see in him.

“Our guys really liked him in the Swedish League,” general manager Paul Holmgren said, and then (Chief Pro Scout) Dave Brown and (Director of Scouting) Chris Pryor followed him around at the World Championships and liked him too.

“He’s a bigger, thick kid with a nose for the puck and he can really shoot. The fact that it’s a one-year deal and it’s an entry-level deal (two way contract) means it’s a no-brainer for us.”

And it should be no secret that the Flyers think he can help the big club right away and that was made known when he practiced on a line with Vinny Lecavalier and Wayne Simmonds on day one.

“We have to see if he can adjust to playing in the smaller rink,” Holmgren said. “He might get bounced around a little bit, but we’ll see.”

However, Pryor thinks Raffl has the game to adapt rather quickly.

“He’s got skill,” Pryor said. “He thinks the game. He’s a versatile guy and can do a lot of different things.

“He’s a good player, who we think can be NHL ready. There’s going to be a learning curve, but he’s got enough in his game to be able to make that adjustment rather quickly.”

It's shaping up to be Raffl vs. McGinn if Laughton doesn't force them to keep him here as a winger, which doesn't seem likely based on the new organizational outlook on development.
