Certainly you cant be talking about Luongo's contract. It is in fact one of the best contracts ever allowed by the NHL, evidence is they have now outlawed future contracts to be structured in that team friendly manner.

5.3m cap hit for a top tier netminder is terrible?

Any other cliche's you want to suggest? Sedin Sisters? Kesler is a diver?
yes, Luongo's contract is great. he's said so himself. i mean, who wouldn't want Luongo on their team until he's like 43?

And here goes the media-hyped myth that Price had a turrrrrrrrible season again....

I envy you, Florida hockey fans.

Luongo says his contract sucked. The context was it sucked for him, as in there was nothing he could do to force a trade.

Whats wrong with having Luongo on your team at 1m per season as a back up?

His contract is structered in a way that the league had to make a rule to ensure no other team ever was able to cheat the cap in this manner.

JVR and Bernier for Price

you're assuming that Luongo will be a solid no.1 until he's 40. not too many goalies out there that play for that long.

Biggest choke goalie of all time? Has Carey Price even won a playoff round?

What percentage of goalies who were multiple time Vezina candidates are not starters into their late 30s?

I made a list once, it's a pretty small list.

Also, Price has never put up a save% as good as Luongo's in the same season while they were both starters.

I seems like both goalies could use a fresh start in a new city. Because of Luongo's age and contract, Vancouver could sweeten the deal with Horvat, which would give Montreal some much needed size up front.
As a Habs fan, NO CHANCE IN HELL!!!

I can't believe that there are Habs fans who wouldn't do this.... this place is unreal. As a Canucks fan if this trade occurred I would flip right out. I would be raving to anyone who would listen... I would be call in to a radio station pissed!

I wouldn't trade Horvat for Price straight up...

NHL (Playoff) totals GP 30 W 9 L 17 OTL 3 GAA 2.90 SV .905

what is impressive about that? Say what you want about Luongo to turn down that trade is crazy.

you're forgetting the part where the Habs would be stuck with Luongo til he's 43 with a cap hit of $5M+.

we've already used our compliance buy-outs.

I'd love to see Luongo's tweet after this.

I'm surprised Habs fans aren't more receptive to this. The trade is far worse for the Canucks.

Montreal's probably better off to wait until Luongo's bought out
(maybe) at the end of the year. I'm okay with the trade but I'd rather have Halak then Longo and just trade Price for Horvat. Should be an exciting year in Lotusland.

You must recognize that by trading Schneider, the Canucks are 100% supporting Luongo at this point and that there is an almost 0% chance he is bought out right?

Well considering the fact Price has never had a better season than Luongo and the fact the vast majority of people think Luongo is a better goalie, yes Price is a downgrade. Stop being such a homer

I like this. Canucks get a half decent player and Montreal fills some major holes they have. Works for both sides.

I agre that the Nucks are giving up a tad to much but lets get real.I wouldn't trade Price straight up for either Luongo or Horvat.
Habs don't want to downgrade in net unless we get something good added with Luongo.
