Some HOF-caliber QBs started their careers on horrendous teams. Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman for instance. Hell, Eli was 1-6 as a starter his rookie season. I don't know that there's much correlation between a QB's long term success and the quality of his team his rookie season. Would Geno be better watching Matt Simms or Brady Quinn suck all year long? I think he'll be fine.
The Sanchez injury is probably the best thing that ever could've happened to the Jets this season. A giant drama cloud is gone from the team and they have 16 games to see what Geno can do. If he sucks you have a high lottery pick and draft another QB, if he does good you have a potential future QB and something to build the team around. The quicker they get away from Sanchez, the quicker they can work on becoming a playoff team again.

Ugh. Debate --

Julius Thomas or Jason Witten this week?

Romo or Brady?
Thomas, the Giants LBs suck. they won't be able to cover him.

Brady vs the jets no question

Connor out for the year is such a huge blow. Fewell is going to have to get creative so teams don't expose Herzlich in the pass game. Tuck/JPP will probably have to drop back a little more than usual

****.

Good luck tonight, Jets fans. Would be an awesome way to start the year 2-0!

Wow there was no one to receive the punt. Someone should be fired for that.

I'm a Jets fan, and this game has been excruciating to watch.

I think Geno has looked pretty solid. We need to draft a quality receiver next year or acquire one somehow. It's pretty pathetic.

The Patriots have too many young receivers as well. Kind of the same problem.

Yeah I don't follow football but I know they lost Welker and the guy that got in trouble. They have good guys that try to sack the quarterback or maybe the Jets' guys that have to block them are just bad. Or the quarterback has to get rid of the ball quicker. I don't know but it's hard to watch.

Where is Mark Sanchez? he's the only Jet I knew before I turned this game on.

EDIT: they just showed him on TV he's hurt and acting as a player-coach haha. Is that normal?

Patriots are pretty good, and the Jets are mediocre at best.

The Jets receiving corps is laughably bad.

Geno hasnt been great but he hasnt been bad either. clyde gates dropped 2 touchdown passes, stephen hill fumbled what was a big gain, and the O-line which was good in the 1st stunk in the 2nd quarter. this is what happen when you just concentrate on defense and ignore offense for 4 years

Smith getting no help at all from his o-line

I think he'd be pretty good with a decent pocket but the Jets aren't giving him any room to work with

feel bad for geno. he has no protection, no NFL WR's and the refs have been terrible as well. Our special teams has also been bad

I'm guessing Rex doesn't trust anyone to field punts? I've never seen a team have no one back on punt returns.

TD Jets.

Best offensive drive for either team in awhile.
