Serious question, what has Harwell done/shown to warrant being put at 9 on this list? I checked his preseason stats and I don't think he has scored in the last 4 games he dressed or something like that. I haven't seen him so I'm just wondering how he jumped so high in the list over other first rounders.

Julien Nantel will push himself into the top10 96's. Very talented player and lots of pro potential.

Scott Oke is another player that doesn't get enough attention. He'll likely be top10 in league scoring.

Saw him and he impressed with his speed and willingness to get his nose dirty. Should get more quality ice time than guys like Brisebois, Meloche, Dostie since he plays on SHE who will be looking for people to play on their scoring lines. Very nice potential and he slipped because teams were not sure he'd come over.

I have Nantel third on my list of top 1996s.

Pépin-Lyamkin-Nantel-Carrier-Ehlers is my top-5.

Nantel is crazy underrated. We've seen how impactful talented 17 year old rookies coming from Qc Midget AAA can be in the past few years...

Definitely. He's going to be a star and a lot of Maritime fans don't even know the name. I expect him to have a similar year like Dauphin did last season. He'll be able to jump in and be a difference maker right away.

You have criminally underrated Auger. He finished 5th in the league last year in Save% despite Saint John having a garbage defense and the guys above him being behind the defenses of BLB, PEI, Quebec and Halifax respectively.

Also, Sean Girard is no longer in the league. Matt Murphy should be top 10 for D IMO.

And I think some people are going to be pleasantly surprised by Highmore this year. It seems a little off to rate 96s and 97s lower (or higher) without them necessarily showing anything to merit a drop (or rise).

Whitney better than Fucale ?

Steeves better than Auger ? Maybe if you havent seen either of them play the last two years....

Poirier, Dea and Gauthier better than Zykov?

Those lists would be cause for great hockey debates!!! this is going to be a very interesting season to say the least!

Andrews and Ashley getting no love here. Both are 20's I know, but both have shown that they can contribute to a championship team and will look to have more important roles this season. Both should be top 20 forwards IMO.

Desrosiers, to me, is at the very least, better than Brassard

Just noticed Robert Steeves , he shouldn't be in the top-10 at all.

You're saying there's 25 better 96's, and two goalies better than Mason Mcdonald?

Ashley for sure. All-around player, top-5 in the league in that regard including intangibles.... Andrews, not so much... Doesn't provide the offense the players listed above do.

Here's how I see it....

Top-10 QMJHL Goalies:
1 Brandon Whitney VIC
2 Sebastian Auger SJ
3 Étienne Marcoux BLB
4 Zachary Fucale HAL
5 Philippe Desrosiers RIM
6 Antoine Bibeau CHA
7 Marvin Cupper SHA
8 Phillipe Cadorette BAI
9 Alexandre Belanger ROU
10 Francois Brassard QUE
HMs: McDonald, Dubeau, Guindon

Moose fans will probably object this, but I'm not looking into the future or looking for best pro tools, but straight up stopping pucks. IMO those top three are the best at it if I'm trying to win a game.

Brassard way too high; Auger way too low in my opinion.

I think we will see more offense from him this season. If he can put up anywhere near 60 points he has to be considered a top 20 forward. Definitely one of the better defensive forwards/pk/faceoff men in the league.

There's a reason he was named to the super series roster last year.

He's pretty slick and he's got some confidence with the puck. You don't see that with every 16 year olds. He doesn't play like a vet like Jérémy Roy does already, but he's impressive for such a young guy.

By far? I highly doubt it, I haven't seen Sprong, but so far, Jérémy Roy has been the best rookie I've seen play.

Meloche looked goog too.

This. Jeremy Roy has looked amazing for a 16 year old. Seems to have so much skill and poise with the puck. Wouldn't be suprised to see him go top 10 in 2015.
