Science has proven many times that there's not many ways to train. Heavy core exercises are the king .

there's nothing like a good deadlift to show pure strength.

this. deads, squats, lunges, box jumps, olympic lifts and to a lesser extent bench, military press. repeat. tried and tested..
the stuff hes doing looks overly complex. theres nothing fancy about building real muscle.

It maybe complex but it's definitely good for explosive leg strength, and skating or stopping and exploDing out in a different direction. Those exercises you listed definitely get you stronger but some of them make you less mobile slower less agile n explosive as well....

Edit: whooos didn't read the Olympic lifts box jumps etc. . Those are definitely great workouts for any athlete

Was actually thinking I might read something interesting concerning Lehkonen, but nope, all I see are posts by big egos with 'little man syndrome'. How convenient.

Wow, how did this thread get taken over by a bunch of muscleheads chirping each other?

Lekhonen with zero points in the WJC so far playing on the first line with Taravainen? WTH?

Has anyone been watching him closely in this tourny?

He was injured for atleast one game so that explains something. 4GP 1-1-2 +2 so not the end of the world.

He's been injured.

He probably should have got an assist today since Ikonen's goal was a deflection off a Lehkonen shot.

He and skinny guys like Louis Leblanc should train with PK Subban's trainer in Toronto. Just look at a picture of PK when he got drafted and a pic of him today. He's doubled in thinkness. And it's all muscle.

Of course, he needs to stay healthy first.

he also needs to gain 20-30 lbs of muscle.

Completely agree with this. PK's skating has really taken a hit the last few years and is seemingly getting worse IMO.

Boys can we keep the discussion about Lehkonen?

And, like, not on PK Subban's training?

we can all read the posts from 18 months ago and have a good laugh... But C'mon don't start again on it, no?

Haven't been able to watch a lot of him except at the WJC...

Good idea.

Better yet, some news!

"Lehkonen broke out of his scoring slump this past week to bolster Frolunda HC's playoff run in a rather spectacular manner.."

yeah you can't gain 20-30 lbs of muscle in a year at most body builders add 5-9 lbs per year and 9 is the genetic freaks .... it's possible to add 20/30 lbs but it won't be muscle
