Maybe they have contractual obligations for other programming.

Selfishly- I want TT, cuz he IS very skilled and can/will contribute now!
But I do worry about the Cheap crap that goes on too often in NHL- and it might be best Long term for ELC/Financial planning for Hawks.

Rockford -NO! It is dirtier/cheaper than the NHL. Did you ever see the 40 man, 20 minute fight the Hogs had last year!!! Yikes- one step above the Hansons in Slapshot!

lol it's the Sox. Even as a Sox fan I can confidently say a Hawks preseason game is infinitely more desired than watching that hopeless cause of a ball team.

And I'm not disagreeing with that notion.

The 23rd is actually the Cubs, with the Sox on CSN+.

Usually has to do with the amount of trucks available. Also, I'm sure the Caps game will be a CSN-Mid Atlantic broadcast.

Very interesting that S. BOWMAN SR. compares TT not to Kane as Q and all the beat writers are doing but rather to IGOR LARIONV...interesting eh?

The vaunted numero unos Danault and McNeill. ..hardly mentioned...shows how far away they are from being NHLers if ever..told ya not to believe the over hype in some quarters...Hartmam and Shalunov shoed better...interesting eh?

Concerned that Cc and Raanta let in the most goals among the hoslies in the scrimmages? Pad reductions affecting them most? Well given all the excitement of how good and deep we are there has to be something to worry about..Hopefully CC gets back on the beam in the pre-season games next..

I can see that. Larionov was a great playmaking C.

@ HF50: The pre-season is barely underway and you are making such assumptions? Letís at least get some pre-season games in before drawing any conclusions.

I must admit, that I love to see Q praising Hayes and Morin for their play so far. Would love to see the Hawks start the season with those big bodies playing hungry hockey. Beach as well seems determined to make an impression. Pirri seems to be off to a slow start but I won't be surprised to see him flourish once the exhibition games begin. It will be interesting as there are only so many jobs in this rather potent Hawks line-up.

Concerned-No. Because CC will have the same D in front of Him. But 67 and 36 missing (and being replaced w/ more offensive minded, less D minded prospects- will lead to higher GAA).

The CC contract length/amount is still too much- even w/ Cap exploding- cuz the Team is the reason CC and Emery looked so good.

It seems to me that its Scotty Bowman making the assumptions. When Scotty favourably compares a kid to a former great I think its pretty exciting. He (Scotty) is not Pierre McGuire and doesn't give praise easily.

My comments were directed at HF50, downplaying Danault and McNeillís play already and showing concern about our goaltending so early in the camp. I wasnít referring to Scotties comparisons at all.

But on that subject: Although the Hawk players, namely Leddy and Hammer arenít as talented as the star player counterparts mentioned by Scottie, the comparison is still valid IMO. In TTís case, based on the hype I hear, I look for him to be at least as good as Larionov was and heís probably better now than Larionov was at the same age, but it is important to let him mature before making the jump to the Hawks.

I'm in town doing the tourist thing and picked up a ticket to the Hawks Festival tonight. What can I expect there, all I know is the cup will be there and there is a scrimmage. What else usually happens at these things?

Tonight's scrimmage rosters. No Toews, Hossa, or Pirri.

Hopefully Teuvo gets to play with 88 again.
