Maybe he needs a good physical, check his balance, eyes, coordination, something seems wrong.

Ugh

We keep losing. And this time we can't blame it on penalties.

wow, 5 PP (w/ not many shots), outshooting them 18-13 but losing 4-1!? Can't blame the refs tonight. I hope this is because of the long layoff, darn NHL schedulers suck, a whole wad of games wear us down then none for 5 days...need a goal badly

When is Lehtonen pulled? After the third goal or in the third period? All the stats from NHL.com are mixed up.

Patrick Stefan = Thrasher killer Who'd have thought it?

I say Hedberg gets the nod until he proves he doesn't deserve it anymore. Kari's gotta be relegated to backup at this point. He's giving up waaaaaaaaay too many soft goals.

Either something is wrong with this team, or the beginning of the season was a complete fluke.

We absolutely suck lately.

3rd game in a row we've played like utter crap, same problems, diffrent game.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with Lehtonen but it's obvious there is a problem and it's also obvious Moose has been playing better so let Lehtonen ride the bench for a little while because quite frankly, I'm sick of seeing him cost us games by letting all these weak goals by, bad D or not. We could have easily won this game if it hadn't been for that horrible first period. I mean, I haven't seen many changes in the way our D has played since the beginning of the year but the goaltending has gotten worse. Hate to lay the blame all on one guy but plain and simple Lehtonen has been letting in goals he should have been stopping and it's costing us games, this is not the same guy we saw at the beginning of the season and thats really scary this early on.

As far as Magoo goes, I said it when he blew the call for Edmonton the other week, and I'll say it again, it's obvious this guy creates too much controversy and that stems from one main fact - he is horrible at his job. Whether it be his age, or him just being a over anxious moron, whatever, the spotlight is on him too much for making insanely stupid calls and I'm really just shocked that he still has a job. The point can be argued that it's our fault for playing like crap for the entire game and putting ourselves in that position in the first place, which is true and I agree with that, but that doesn't make the call any less idiotic. Magoo, do us all a favor and wobble your way out of the league, thanks.

All in all I think the only relief or moment of happiness I felt the entire game was after Hoss got up and skated back to the bench.

Serious changes need to be made, and then need to be made soon, or that playoff spot that looked so much like a sure thing at the beginning of the season is slowly going to fade away.

Hrmm, I thought Mellanby was only going to play 12 minutes a night, Bob. Superstats has him at 19:44!?!

Jon Sim is never going to get out of the doghouse on the 3rd line. Hrmm, put him back with Kovalchuk like when we were winning and stuff.

Slater doesn't have chemistry with anyone. I don't understand hitching your thoroughbreds to a plow horse. Hands of slate, and can't skate.

We need to go with our early season lines for sure and our defense is hurting without X and McCarthy, that was very evident tonight.

I say bench Kari for another week and then give him another shot, or seriously, if he keeps playing bad, send him to the AHL for a week to get it through his head that if he's gonna play bad, he wont play in the NHL.

Agree with everything there. Mellanby isn't a 20 min a game player, Sim needs to go back. And as much as I like Slater, he's been meh, as well.

But the fact is - it was a 4-1 loss. So the goalie's not the only problem. Scoring went down, and considering only 3 guys on the team can score. (I really hope Little won't bust like most of the other draft picks we've had...). The great start was partly Lehtonen playing very well. I think he started with close to 92% saveage. Now it's down to 89.3%. 89.3% In about 6 games. That's not going to get you anywhere.

I also see no reason for why Kapanen's still playing. I say give Bourret a shot, instead.

Bourret? He's barely denting the scoreboard in Chicago. Granted he's been a little dinged up, but he's developing a bit of a history of being a little dinged up. Considering Chicago has/had the TOP THREE scorers in the AHL in Krog, Haydar and Sterling, I seriously doubt Bourret makes an appearance in Atlanta this year. He's a rookie, give him some time. Granted, Sterling's a rookie too, but he's a couple years older. Here are some numbers to chew on:
Krog: 17 games, 13g - 21a = 34 pts, +5
Haydar: 17 games, 12g - 20a = 32 pts, +8
Sterling: 16 games, 13g - 10a = 23 pts, +3
Bourret: 10 games, 2g - 4a = 6 pts, -1
