There you go, just as I expected. What not an outcry about Ellis who didn't play in either exhibition game. Or is he injured?

you gotta feel for leblanc.... with jacques martin, the guy goes out and plays hard and scores his first NHL goal and then doesn't get played the rest of the game. if i was louis, i would be pretty damn furious at this point

As I said, I hope he plays hard and literally forces the team to recall him from Hamilton sooner rather than later.
While Thomas is handed a spot after a 30-something points season in the AHL?

Leblanc is cut because he is redundant. If you can't play the body GTFO and bring your pre-game Starbucks Latte Frapuccino with you.

Seeing who was cut and who wasn't should make it obvious this isn't about reward/punishment and more about who they want to evaluate further for whatever reason. Thomas not being cut doesn't mean he's starting the season with the Habs.

I think this is the point. It really isn't about leblanc getting caught in a situation where we have pretty much a set line up. It's about the guys who stayed to compete for a potential last spot and weren't as good.

And guys like Blunden and Holland are more useful out there?

That is almost as idiotic (if he isn't injured) as keeping the 6'0 forward over the 5'9 one.

Then why is Thomas still here then?

Why is HOLLAND still here?

I think this could be pretty much true. With Louis, he played a solid game and I'm sure they will make that clear to him. But, he was never going to make the Habs for October 1st. There just isn't any room. The Habs know what they have in Louis and don't need to take up a spot in the line-up with him in another pre-season game.

With Thomas, he's played one game in the Habs organization and it's perfectly reasonable that they want to see more of him because they aren't as familiar with him as Leblanc. That's the way I see it anyway.

Fair enough but you'd think after leblanc's last year they'd want to see more of him too. Keep in mind, he didn't have rookie camp either. So they viewed him very little.

Well, Blunden can be a decent 13th forward, a spot I wouldn't put Leblanc in if we want him to develop. Don't understand why they kept Holland though.

As far as I know the NHL roster hasn't been set yet. The organization has watched Leblanc every day for a few years while they have only seen a bit of Thomas. Doesn't it make sense to evaluate the unknown

I would have said so myself -- besides, at least St-Pierre had a decent game.

Because there are more cuts coming, and this just sends another message that if you don't want to play the body, go back to hairdressing schoo.

Evaluating him in the AHL would've been perfect.

It'S just because Leblanc plays more the body than the two guys I mentionned, so they're the ones who should be headed there.

Leblanc was involved. I get he was cut for other reasons but your theory is terrible. They didn't cut him because of that.

Louis was skating very well tonight. While I am simply a fan watching on tv, I am surprised he had to be cut so quickly. Is Holland still at camp?

Read in twitter that more guys got cut and assigned to the Bulldogs, like Ellis and Meyers, makes sense, and really isn't as bad as i thought that, with LL being the only guy that got cut that would go to Hamilton.
