Holland is on his way out also. Its a matter of time.

Bournival distanced himself from the crowd with his scoring AND physicality.

Did people seriously believe that Leblanc would make it to Montreal to start this season? Check out our roster again. Maybe one spot until Gionta comes back. And there are players with more skill than Leblanc who will get a chance.
Like whom?

Collberg? Doesn't exactly screams ready.
McCarron? Not sure he's more skilled than Leblanc.
Bournival? THAT makes sense, but he plays LW/C AFAIK and we don't need an LW EXCEPT for the 4th line if we send one of Prust/Moen on the Top-9. And hopefully, it's Prust.
Thomas? Now that's funny.
Holland? See Thomas.
DelaRose? He's like 4000km away from Montreal.

Not sure Leblanc would have beginned the season here, but he definitely didn't deserve to be cut.

Pretty much everyone was cut per Gagnon. Only players left are Thomas, Collberg, St-Pierre, Pateryn and Tinordi.

collberg needs a game with an offensive line, sure, but thomas and st pierre? why

agree with pateryn and tinordi, both should be given a serious look. both.

I guess they're going to give the St. Pierre, Bournival and McCarron line another game at least. They earned it after the last outing.

I thought Leblanc might earn a spot to start the season in Montreal, but new regime, new outlook. He doesn't have to clear waivers..makes sense to send him to Hamilton. Leblanc's task is quite straight forward - produce at the AHL level and earn a callup to the big team.

The club may be looking to keep someone like Blunden to start the season in place of Parros' spot if he's not ready, and Thomas/Bournival/McCarron battle to replace Gionta for a game or two. Perhaps even St. Pierre sticks as an extra until the injuries are over with. Both he and Blunden would be eligible to be claimed off waivers would they not?

Not surprised St. Pierre, McCarron, Thomas are getting longer looks - they are new to the organization.

Collberg is just coming back from injury - makes sense to give him some more time. the Habs are in no huge rush to send him back to Sweden I suspect.

They don`t only judge on tonights performance. They been checking since last season who merits the stay.

Seriously, Gagnon's tweet is totally ambiguous.

I write to earn a living, and if I'd write like he tweets, I'd be fired ASAP.

And if I write like he used to write in Lapresse, I'd be fired as well.

No way to even know who's cut and who isn't from his last tweet.

After having the whole list of cuts, LL being cut isn't as a surprise as it would have been if it was just him and those junior players.

I guess he maybe could have gotten another look, but he was bound for the Dogs to start the year. Don't think Ellis got to play in any of the games and he was cut.

Forwards Martin Reway (Gatineau – QMJHL) and Charles Hudon (Chicoutimi – QMJHL), and goaltender Zachary Fucale (Halifax – QMJHL) have been returned to their respective junior teams. Ten players have been assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs: forwards Joonas Nattinen, Stephen MacAulay, Stefan Fournier, Sven Andrighetto, Louis Leblanc and Erik Nyström, goaltender Robert Mayer and defencemen Morgan Ellis, Darren Dietz and Dalton Thrower. Defenceman Matt Lashoff will also be invited to report to the Bulldogs training camp.

Can we update the OP with all 14 cuts, please? It's misleading to say we only cut those players.

Yeah I'm not sure what he's saying anymore. Official press release from the habs only says 14 players were cut.

Yeah -- certainly. Apologizes for earlier outburst.

BTW, I'm not in the "bring back Kristo" camp. Just haven't been impressed by Thomas.

Leblanc now has to Maxpac it.
