Player of the game swag - what do you use?

And I'm using the word SWAG in the original sense of the word - not that horrible HS cringe-boy meaning.

I'm captain of a new team. We're called the Predators and the logo is the predator from the movie. I've never seen the movie in its entirety, although I have an idea of what it is since I've seen bits and pieces.

I want to do some sort of 'player of the game' recognition item. Teams I've played on have used various things - a huge sombrero, a squeaky ferret dog toy, a hard hat.

I'm at a loss as to what to do for this particular team/mascot. Any ideas? It doesn't necessarily have to be predator themed, but I don't want something that doesn't go at all like a clown hat or similar.

Thanks!

Is this like the Rangers with their post-game hat, where the locker room decides on a player of the game and they get to wear a little black hat while they sit in the locker room and change? Then the next game it goes to someone new?

Or is it more like a gift that the player who gets it gets to keep?

If they're keeping it, maybe something like this
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1994-Action-M...3207887&_uhb=1

Or a DVD copy of "Predator", which you could probably find for like 3.99 in most bargain bins. Make a custom t-shirt that says "GET TO THE CHOPPA!" or something. If you want to be more practical but don't care about the theme as much, maybe some extravagant stick tape, like hot pink or neon green.

how about some type of play off either Arnold or Jessie the Body Ventura? you could go with a camo boonie hat like Jessie wore in the movie. or like one of those mankini things that Arnold wore when he was a body builder, or Jessie wore as a pro wrestler.

For a team named after the alien Predator I think a cleaned human skull would be fitting.

It's like the rangers hat thing, something silly to be passed around each week.

We're definitely going to the Halloween store to see what they have. I do like the camp beanie idea.

Jesse The Body Ventura was also well known in his WWF days to wear a pink boa, there's your swag.

I bet theres a toy/halloween Predator mask/gun out there somewhere. A spear or something would be appropriate. Also like the human skull mentioned above, find a prop/toy or use an empty bottle of crystal skull vodka.

Ooooh I like the crystal skull vodka, if your team has beer after every game. Whoever's turn it is to bring the beer could fill the skull with one of the beers too, so that the winner of the player of the game could drink from it.

2 different team's I'm involved with do this. my gf's beer league team does a "bucket handle" player of the game. it's an actual bucket handle mounted on a piece of wood. the part that makes it funny is that the bucket handle was something they used to break into one of the guys' car after he locked the keys inside during the "4th period".
my women's travel team does a "magic comb" which is just a big pink comb that's been decorated with costume jewels to be all sparkly. the latter probably wouldn't work well for you.

Yeah, the pink comb may not go over too well. But the skull would be great, I think they would get a kick out of that.

I'm glad this is getting started when all of the Halloween stores are open, I'm sure someone will have something if I can't do the skull thing.

I have a bottle of Crystal Skull Vodka right now, taking it with me to Vegas this weekend. From what I understand people like to drink the vodka and sell the empty bottle on Ebay cause people want a crystal skull.

No it's incredibly easy, I've never been to a liquor store bigger than a gas station shop and not seen it. It's just very expensive (although it's supposed to be good. I've found it in my friends' liquor cabinets, but I've never been worthy enough for them to crack it open for, I guess!)

You could get one empty for probably around $20.

I got mine for $40 at some Wine store, Bevmo has it for the same price. They also have an $80 bottle.

Maybe I'll give them a might ducks DVD! Kind of the total opposite of the predators, right?

Oooh, this might work - we can 'give them a hand' after the game.

Best line of the movie is when Arnold throws a knife into a guy, pinning him agaisnt the wall and Arnold sez "stick around". Cool jersey idea would be a guy pinned into a wall with a hockey stick saying "stick around", funny if anyone gets the reference.

I ordered one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Funko-POP-Movi...funko+predator

But it won't be here until Monday. So I guess we'll just do a player of the game after our 2nd game.

I'm still thinking the predator hands might be cool, if I can find them locally I may pick them up.
