Curious to hear if people have certain strategies they have developed and/or held onto throughout their fantasy hockey career.
Please share and discuss.
My own are fairly simple but for the last 8 years of playing Ive managed to always stay somewhere in the top 3-4 so I must be doing something right. I usually try and pick a good goalie in the first round as they are hard to come by, unless I pick in the first 3 (which Ive never had, which means Ive never had Crosby, Malkin, Ovie etc.). Everyone needs good goaltending. I also try and make sure I manage to get 3 solid goalies in total, overall I value this position a lot as skaters can be hot and cold and there is more of them to go around.
I also try and see all stats as equal which I didnt do the first few season. Goals is just as good as penalty minutes, which is hard to sometimes realize because as fans we value goals and assists way more. But in the end, they are both just number and having more of them will win you points.
