I guess Grassi and Chouinard are the other options. The D kinda need Tinordi to be better:

Tinordi - Nygren
Beaulieu - Pateryn
Ellis/Schiestel/Dietz/Grassi/Chouinard
Ain't Corbin still part of the team, or was he really that awful ?

I'm starting to think that Nystrom might've been better off staying in Sweden another year.

I'd say no. His lack of work ethic killed it.

Does Rusty Courtnall have kids? It'd be sorta cool if he did cuz his mother-in-law is the great Sarah Vaughn, she's an awesome singer from the 50s or 60s or whatever. The kid would be semi-royalty.

The way McCarron opened up space for MSP-Bourinval I think Blunden can play that role on that line.

His name could be Archie too, how scary would that be? That's Geoff and Rusty's dad's name by the way, if Justin's skating is any where close to Rusty's then he's in business. Skating, size and physicality being in high demand throughout the league not just for Montreal Canadiens.

This is the 2nd time in the last few days that I've read that Collberg can start the season in Hamilton:

Collberg, qui est sous contrat en Suède, a confié qu'il resterait en Amérique, si le Canadien lui faisait de la place à Montréal ou à Hamilton.
I wish that Collberg join Dogs this season, that would be great.

Bournival, Collberg, Holland, Leblanc, Naatinen and Thomas all in the hands of Stephane Lebeau, the AHL teams lookout lethal offence ahead. I forgot Sven Andrighetto imagine and Duffy. Martin St. Pierre and Stephane Fournier and Tarnasky as the defensive forwards with a defensive corps that combined with Tokarski will be hard to beat.

Prospect Question!

Hello Montreal Canadians fans!

Some quick background: I'm in a long-term keeper-type league using the FaceOff Hockey rules, which is a card&dice, stats/probability based table top game where the Player cards are based on the previous seasons real-life stats. We are currently holding our annual rookie draft.

I'm considering spending my 4th round pick on Christian Thomas; is this a guy that might become a usable/decent player sometime in the future? Or should I be looking elsewhere?

I live out west (as my user-name might indicate) and my familiarity with eastern conference players is somewhat limited... who better to turn to than fans of the team?

Thanks!

If last season was any indication, Leblanc will almost certainly be in the bottom 6.

Bournival - St.Pierre - Holland
Blunden - Dumont - Thomas
Andrighetto - Nattinen - Leblanc
Nystrom - Tarnasky - Fournier

Tinordi-Nygren
Beaulieu-Pateryn
Lashoff-Dietz/Ellis

Tokarski
Mayer

Leblanc played on all 3 lines of the top 9 throughout the season. When the dogs open camp next week we might get a better feel for what the lines will look like. Assuming Dumont clears waivers I would put them together on a line together.

If you can imagine that, then add Collberg and Tarnasky, some defensive line. If Collberg comes to Hamilton and the Habs sign Gagne, that could spell Leblanc to NYR's for Dylan McIlrath Defenceman with the nickname Undertaker in the WHL before being taken #10 OV in 2010. LL being selected at #18 OV in 2009. McIlrath taken 16 places early and LL being taken 13 places early in their draft years. Might be a match made in heaven IMO.

Other suggestions for a trade involving Louis Leblanc;

Team and player with pos./hgt./wgt.
Calg. Max Reinhart -C -6'1"- 180
Dal. Brett Ritchie -RW-6'3"- 209
Nash. Zach Budish-RW-6'3"-229
NYR.Dylan McIlrath-RD-6'4"-212

Some really good prospects available giving fair trade for both teams.IMO

The BabyHabs are taking on the look of the Habs former farm team Nova Scotia Voyageurs (1970's) that speaks volumes as to the direction the organization is heading. I'm looking forward to watching both Hamilton Bulldogs and the Canadiens this season.
Building a winner isn't accomplished overnight, but from all indications the system is being strengthened properly and within three seasons our Habs will be back where they belong.(Amongst the strongest contenders annually) Stanley Cup parades may soon be on the streets of Montreal as it should be, for the NHL to thrive on skilled hockey based upon defence and goaltending that lifts the crowds to their feet once more!
