I know a lot of people are now joking about it, but the fact that some people questioned the term and price (particularly the term) of a recent 1st rounder newly signed to an ELC really blows my mind.

Or I hope everyone was just kidding

And didn't see the price anywhere?

Maybe some of us don't just drink the Brian Murray kool-aid and applaud every move he makes when he should have been fired 6-7 seasons ago.

Did something change with ELC in the new CBA, or are they still all just set price/term and the only negotiation is performance bonuses?

So 1.5 per year, big deal...

I am simply not competent enough to question what a NHL GM does or not... Are you?

And my post had absolutely nothing to do with that, just that whining about the term of an ELC seems extremely ignorant of well, how it's done.

But what can I do? Occidental people always complain for nothing. See my avatar for future reference

IIRC, price is not set... there's a minimum and a max. Most first rounders just get the max.

Frankly I find it obscene. What has he done to deserve $4.5/year for 3 years.

I guarantee Alfie stays if Murray offered him that contract.

this is fun

Bling is the most useless thing on the planet and I don't and never will understand why people pay loads of money for it

If he had an endorsement, he wouldn't have to pay!

Committing to a three year deal with a guy that has injury problems this early in his career is bad news. I heard he sat out the two pre-season games the Senators have played in so far with an upper body problems.

I would have saved it to sign the Sedins in the offseason. 750k a piece. We know Murray has an in with them because he used to be the Ducks GM and so did Burke, who drafted them in Vancouver.

Also I don't appreciate being called accidental and I don't know what that ice Cube means

Don't like this move. Premature and he's overpaid too. Paying for potential isn't the way to go.

He actually started as the Video Coach! The first few years he never got to see a live game as he was tucked away in a video booth!

Great guy!

Why did Murray sign a hockey player to a contract? Didn't we just sign this big sponsorship deal with Canadian Tire?

Shoot, son. We need Assistant Managers and Head Cashiers up in this joint.

Murray...
