WGAS. Decipher that if you want.

I don't want to see another Sens player wearing that number so my vote is: get rid of it.

Yes but it'll take a few seasons after his retirement now as opposed to immediately after his last game.

It'll get retired, but it's going to take longer to do it now.

Once Alfie retires, it'll take a few years for the team & the player to sort out their dirty laundry behind the scenes & out if the spotlight (not to mention those few years will take the bite out of his departure for many fans - "time heals all wounds", and all that...) and we'll have a jersey retirement later in the decade.

It'll be absolutely retired, but just as Bonk has said, it'll take longer to do so. I expect it to be retired within the next 6 or 7 years.

If Alfie does not get his number retired nobody is ever going to get their numbered retired here.

It will get retired. Until then, no player will wear it out of respect.

It won't be worn but I think it will take a long time before it's retired. Melnyk seems like he might be type to hold grudges. I don't see it being retired anytime soon but like Roy, it will probably get done after there's a lot of water under the bridge.

I think that the team should make a statement saying they are going to retire #11. Then at the ceremony when they are raising the number to the rafters, right at the last possible moment before the #11 banner reaches the roof, Melnyk should come out and say that he decided to change his mind and will retire a different number instead. With that, the #11 will be taken down.

I feel like there's no hard feelings with Melnyk and he's much happier with Ryan than Alfie.

But it won't get retired til probably a year or two after he retires himself.

It's foolish to think that it won't.
