Jokerit beat IFK again, 4-0 this time. Two younger IFK fans "brainstormed" and threw two flares into the Jokerit fan section.

There is opinion among a few posters, that SHL/SML are on par with KHL. I made a comparison of ET results, even I know they are not true indicator, among KHL (Slovan) and SHL/SML teams.

Total games - 4
(wins) KHL:SHL - 2:0
(wins) KHL:SML - 1:1

Teams

KHL
Slovan - 13th in RS 12/13, QF of conference (so 1/16)

SHL

Linköpings HC - 5th in RS 12/13, SF
HV71 - 4th in RS 12/13, QF

SML

JYP - 3rd in RS 12/13, SF (Bronze medal)
KalPa - 5th in RS 12/13, QF

A lot of games have to go their way for them to reach the final tournament. Remember, only the 1st placed team from each group and the best 2nd placed team overall advance (along with Berlin).

It could be hard being in the the top two of their own division. JYP are 3pts behind and Linköping are 4pts behind, both have 6pts to play for.

- All JYP need to do in order to take over the 1st place is win one game in regular time and make sure that their +/- doesn't drop bellow +7 (+6 with at least 32 goals scored would do the trick as well).

- Linköping obviously need at least a one regular time win and one OT game and need to improve their +/- by 2 goals.

Should Slovan loose the 1st place, but manage to hold on to the 2nd place, then there are the other groups to worry about. All the top two teams in those divisions have 6pts to play for.

There are several teams from those groups who can get 16pts or more while finishing 2nd. Here is a quick look at the current 2nd placed teams in the other groups (all of them could actually finish ahead of the currently 1st placed teams in their divisions, which would of course make it even harder for Slovan).

- Plzen need 5pts and to improve their +/- by 5 goals.

- TPS need 4pts and to improve their +/- by 3 goals.

- Frölunda need 3pts and have to make sure that their +/- doesn't drop bellow +7 (currently +13).

Slovan´s goal is not to play meaningless finals, they need to fight for KHL play off spot at that time.

There's still money prizes in the tournament and it's no longer up to Slovan if they make it or not.

TPS lost to Tappara 2-1 after shootout. Not clear for the final tournament yet.

Jokerit leading against Adler Mannheim in Germany.

HIFK down 0-3 to Ingolstadt.

Which teams are set for the play-off stage (except Eisbären) and which could potentially be best nr 2 at this stage?

Adler-Jokerit went into OT at 1-1.

Ingolstadt-HIFK 5-2, Trevor Gillies got 5+20 for slashing.

Jokerit won in OT, Väänänen from the backpost, with Kousa setting him up by coming from the corner. Teräväinen and Moses were on the blueline.

Qualified: Eisbären, Färjestad.

Hold their own faith:
Luleå needs 1 pt last two games to clinch. (unless they totally bomb their GF/GA then they might need 2)
Djurgården needs 2 pts last two games to clinch. (1 could be enough)
JYP needs 4 pts last two games to clinch. (3 could be enough)
Frölunda needs 5 pts last two games to clinch. (4 could be enough)

Teams still in the hunt but doesn't hold their own faith: Plzen, TPS, Slovan, Linköping.

Thanks! So Frölunda could clinch a spot in the playoffs as best nr 2 without having to rely on scores to go in their favor?

Yep. JYP and Frölunda both have 13 points in 6 games. But if JYP takes 17 points they win their group so Frölunda doesn't have to worry about them in regards to that. The only other team that can reach 17 points and not win their group is Plzen and they have an inferior GF/GA ratio. Frölunda of course can reach as many as 19 points.

Luleå qualified yesterday despite a loss.

Brynäs about to steal Djurgården's place in the finals as they beat them yesterday and has the lead today.

JYP and Frölunda also well on their way to the finals.

edit: Djurgården turned it around.

Eisbären, Färjestad, Luleå, Djurgården, JYP, Frölunda going to the redbull salute.

From what I can gather, Linköping could, in theory, snatch Frölundas spot as best nr 2 but would have to win their last game with 11 goals.
Other than that, it's a done deal who's going to the final stage of the ET, right?

Anyone in the know who can tell me if the tickets for the finals have been released yet?
Planing on traveling to Berlin to watch Frölunda - Eisbären and be good to know what the price range is for tickets.

Frölunda is missing seven forwards and a pair of d-men. Gonna be a tough one.
