Nice, very nice. I like the way you took that up a level on the pun scale.

Yah that is a little scary to have a Dio statue... I wonder if that's where the dark lord will gather all evil to him at the end of days. He'll take over the statue and be impervious to mankind's weapons!

Also what's a dime-a-dozen two-way signing without a bad pun here and there? Traditions must hold!

His skating is very good. A very good skater in the Q. Still, we all know when your a small player in the NHL you need great speed, so like every prospect he'll need to improve, but with his desire and the way he already skates I don't think it will be a problem.

It's nice seeing a kid work hard and earn a contract after being passed over a few times. The last few smallish C/W's the Pens have signed haven't worked out that well for the Pens, well Letestu was solid, but Street is now with the Flames and Gibbons has yet to earn even a cup of coffee with the big club.

But if he can keep working hard at his game and get stronger, who knows?

So how well do you think he skates?

When did 5'11" become a "small" NHL player? They don't all have to be Staals or PL3 out there.

It's more his weight than his height that could be the problem but he has plenty of time to put on a little size.

Yeah. Even if the numbers are a little fudged (like for most players) he's really not that small at all. I get that there's some questions to his ability to transfer his game to the NHL, but he's really not a Martin St. Louis or Chris Conner size here.

And, like you said, I wouldn't be surprised if he puts on another 10-15 lbs over the next few seasons. Kid's only 19, after all.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said small. Still, 5'11" isn't that big in the NHL and you need to be pretty fast most of the time (they are some exception obviously).

Like I said, that's a great signing for the Pens, just to show how much I'm high on Dea, I wouldn't have any problem drafting him in the 3rd/4th round at the last draft. So for an UFA signing that's awesome.

he weighed in at 176 at camp, so he has already put on a good amount of weight in a year. I would guess he'll be around 190-200 when he's knocking on the door, which is not an issue.

love the signing. always good to get a guy who has a big chip on his shoulder and seems eager to prove everyone else wrong.
