do you think pre-season tix are cheap in montreal? Quebec will have to support a team playing bad pre-season games too.
You would pay 100$+ to watch the Leafs or Bruins play the friggin Hurricanes in pre-season?

Hey you could cheer for the Hurricanes' C team!

I heard about that Islanders game from a collegue of mine yesterday. He was so angry just talking about it, it must really have been terrible

There is no doubt in my mind a Nordiques pre-season game and especially regular season games would sell out though. Also, are pre-season games included in Habs season tickets plans? That helps filling an arena...

You need not be pissed at the Canucks - Habs weren't taking him. :-)

It is ONE nice highlight... a la Reway. Not exactly great goaltending there, way back in his net. No one doubts that Shinkaruk can shoot the puck...so can Thomas.

I'll take Mac over Shinkaruk all day thanks.

Not once but twice since they took Subban right before us later in the draft

And that is NOT how I felt on Draft Day I was still very unsure Big Mac was even going in the top-40.

Luckily, you've slowly pulled me over to the dark side.

Has anyone/Grant heard anything out of Buffalo about Justin Bailey? He was a guy I was excited about this draft.

what Bettman wants is a new rink and big exapansion money...not how many tickets can be solid in an old rink for a preseason game.

The David Perron trade: A glimpse into what life is like for an NHL player when he’s been sent packing.

Quote:
Perron was traded to Edmonton on July 10. He received the news while meeting with members of the French media in Montreal, which is about 90 minutes from his hometown of Sherbrooke, where he spends his offseasons. The phone call from Blues GM Doug Armstrong wasn’t a total shock, as he had been warned a couple weeks prior that this was a possibility.

When Perron’s phone rang in front of the French-speaking media, he knew right away what was about to happen.

“I got up and told them, ‘I think I’m traded here.’ They thought I was kidding,” Perron said. “I came back 10 minutes later and they were like, ‘So what happened?’ I said I was traded. They thought I was joking the whole time. I had to leave the room after that because I had to go home because I had a bunch of interviews to do. It was a weird way to learn about it for sure.”
http://blogs.thescore.com/nhl/2013/0...-sent-packing/

I think Perron could be a good fantasy pick now that hes with the Oilers.

but i like it from the oilers management point of view, better to ink him to 6 mill a year quick then to have him explode one year and have to pony up 7.5+

In 2-3 years, when he enters his prime, $6-million could be one hell of a steal. He just needs to stay healthy.

With the amount of time he's spent injured, I think they are taking a huge risk with those years and cap hit.

Karlsson is a total non-factor in the D zone... It's a total fallacy that this guy won some hardware.

Yeah... What Edmonton is doing right now, i.e. giving 5-6 millions to all of their top-6 players when they already can't get a decent defense, while still having to pay Yakupov, Perron and Schultz, definitely is clever!

ah come on... The offense this guy brought in his Norris Trophy winning year was just absurd. It made up for his lack of defense.

What should they do ? Let them go ? Try to low ball them for 2-3 years then have to pay them even more ???
