The coaching staff has to be aware of this but someone really, really NEEDS to repeat this at a post game media thing with MT and ask him to justify. It worked with JM when they asked why Darche was on the PP over Cole, despite his snotty reply

I would also assume that McCarron and Bournival will be on the same line since they had pretty good chemistry in that first game.

My lines would be

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Thomas
Bournival - Desharnais - McCarron
Prust - Holland - Collberg
Blunden-Dumont-Tarnasky

Gorges-Subban
Tinordi-Pateryn
Dietz-Nygren

Budaj
Tokarski

Dietz is bigger and tougher but Diaz is much smarter, better hockey sense with and without the puck.

Would have been neat to see Ellis instead of Dietz this time around. Both guys are actually competing for what they could turn down to be quite similar type of players. No matter how great Dietz showed he could be offensively in Juniors, I don't think that will go on as much in higher levels.

I'd go with:

Pacioretty - Desharnais - Thomas
Prust - Galchenyuk - Collberg
Bournival - Dumont - McCarron
Blunden - Tarnasky - Holland

Gorges - Subban
Tinordi - Nygren
Dietz - Pateryn

Budaj
Tokarski

.
Maybe they could send DD back down so he could reprise his role in the modified version of Game Of Thrones...

Don't know about that. Dietz lacks experience and reads the play in the offensive zone very well. Still lots of work to do but it more about experience than smarts or hockey sense.

he really impressed me in the game against Boston, the kid can carry a puck for sure

But so can Diaz and Subban

I would not mind having these 3 together, along with Beaulieu If he pans out

I think I get it now! They're giving some team a bad goaltender so we can score on them when he plays against us! That's... gold, Jerry, GOLD!

@CanadiensMTL:
3 players released from camp today: Sebastian Collberg (Frolunda, Sweden), Michael McCarron (London, OHL), Dustin Tokarski (Hamilton).

Solid. Big Mac obviously needs work, impressive though i'm very happy with him. Collberg isn't there yet either but he's close I think. Tokarski is a no brainer.

So does Bornival make the squad? He's giving MB and MT a tough decision to make.

I expect every one of them, save Bournival who might make the team, to report back to Hamilton.
