One of my profs keeps talking about how much easier it is to use a t30xi (scientific from junior high) than a ti80 (graphing from high school). Everyone but me agrees ...

the 80 is overkill. Brain+scientific is enough.

Pretty sure it can run it. Based on this website, I think I can run it on max settings.

80 let's you see the whole equation though. Makes corrections easier to make. Also having letters for storage is easier than numbers. That way I can have voltage power and current as v p and I instead of 1 2 and 3

Sounds like you're too dependent on your calculator . The Ti30 don't do rebounds complex numbers perfectly so there are better scientific calculators out there.

What's wrong with using the technology you have available?

I would rather see engineers using calculators then their head

The 80 is too powerful though, with it's function capabilities it can do everything for you and for that reason it won't be allowed on certain exams. I'd recommend getting used to a scientific calculator (not any of the texas instruments 30s though).

My course doesn't have advanced math though.

I just find the 80 much more user friendly for pretty much any multi step equations

My buddy has joked regularly that engineering profs who mock students using calculators should realize that engineers designed the damned things.

It is because they are all correct. The 30Xii is great. It is what I use.

Closed-minded. Some rap is very deep and far from the classic mentality of "yo yo yo *****es and hoes and dat bling." I can't agree with any sweeping generalizations about any genre; there's good stuff in any style. The thing is, some genres have way more gems than others.
