on another note:

anyone use the Winwell GX-8? people were giving it great reviews when it was 99$, and now you can find it for around 60$.

Montreal Tackla Nitro Lite

Anyone ever use these? If so, what's the good, the bad and the ugly about them?

Anyone else here a heel curve guy?

I always rocked the Easton Lidstrom curves; now that they don't make them anymore it's a Getlzaf i use. But all the eastons I can find are like 250-300$ now. Anyone know of any cheaper sticks that come in heel curves?

i tried out a ccm cs u+ with the burns curve for a few games and almost every shot i took ended up in the protective netting

i guess it's just a matter of learning how to shoot the right way with the new curve

Two piece, Easton Getzlaf blade with whatever shaft fits your flex and budget.

I just got a Reebok 16k shaft to replace my last Easton shaft that broke. It's awesome, just wish I got the non-grip version. Just have to get used to the grippiness.

I love the Getlaf too, wicked for passes and writers. But it's like finding a unicorn anytime I actually see a one piece with it, and priced just about the same too.

I managed to pick up a pair of Reebok 6k sticks the other week for the bargain price of 40 for both.

Since I started playing I've found the flex I'm comfortable with has actually been decreasing and these sticks are actually 75 flex with the P19 blade pattern.

75/77 has been my preferred flex. I'm 6'2" but a light 170lb.

I'm 5'11" and 190lb.

To be honest I'm not on the team for my stick handling, I'm a third/forth liner who is used to hit things, opposition players preferably, the boards most often and the puck, well only if I'm really lucky.

"Hit Somebody" is my marching song and Tootoo is my role model....

Started using my original mako again, just to give the RSII a break before the season starts. I'm seriously considering buying a couple of closeout makos online before they completely disappear in my flex and curve.

I'll be checking out the lhs next week for a new stick after I get paid, am also considering the V9 or V9E. I'd like to give them a try, kinda curious about the dual lie thing on the E3.

I haven't bought a new stick in months and don't even want to get tempted

Looks like they are doing away with the mid price models? I only see the $250 sticks and then $100 ones. That's kind of dumb.

I'm probably not buying another Easton stick for a while. Picked up a RS. Blade is creaking after 5 skates. Pretty garbage.

there is nothing new about the E3/Hall/Sakic. Dual lie is a buzz word for a rocker.

For what line are you referring? There's the V9,V7 and V3 as well as V9E, 5E & 1E

Im glad, tbh. The only time we ever sold sticks in the $150-$225 range was if they were on sale or on clearance price. Otherwise, people just buy last years $300 sticks on clearance for $175-$225. So we end up with dozens, and dozens of eq40s, AI7s and x6.0s.

On a side note, picked up an APX at work yesterday, amazing balance and puck feel.

Looking to pick up an older model for my son on clearance for cheap. Any major difference between Easton Synergy ST and the Stealth Stealth S15? Different kick points?

Stop by a Perani's. They have tons of 2011/12 Warrior/Easton/Bauer/CCM sticks for $90-$150.

I use a Bauer APX stick, with Toews Curve

and let me just say Toews curve is the best in the game, ever since I switched to this stick I went from a PPG player to a 2 goal a game so far player.

I've got one of these http://hockeygearreviews.com/sticks/warrior/dynasty-ax3 - WARRIOR DYNASTY AX3 -And it does the trick. Plenty of whip and strong. And at 100 flex just the way I like it!

ST has the traditional Synergy taper, meaning that there is no specific kickpoint engineered. Similar to SE16 or Dolomite.

I've been using two CCM U+06 with the Crazy Ovi curve which is may favorite. Looking at upgrading to a Bauer Totalone P08.

Two sticks I stay away from are Easton (unless old school shafts) and Sherwood. I've went through many of their sticks. In two months I went through 3 Easton Rs's and 4 Sherwood N12's.

Last few ice times I've been using my Miken Z9 with the P14 curve. Really solid stick. It's got about 20+ games on it now and still working really well.

So the E3/Hall/Sakic is the same? Curious, Well in that case, I might just go with a clearance stick instead. Not really looking to fork out $260 for a stick.

However I find it funny that people break Eastons so fast, I've got almost 2 full years out of the last 3 eastons I've bought.

The only 'new' curves are the E28 and E36. E3 is the same as it ever was.
