You get some decent single ticket finds on there. I haven't really done the 1hr before game time deal...I live not too far from the stadium (NW of the city) but how often are there good deals posted and against good teams?
I wasn't really in a position to do it all that often but there was a good 2 to 3 weeks last season that I was keeping an eye on the ticket prices every game. There were good deals on there pretty often and for that price you could get tickets in sections 112-114, 124, 101,102 or even club box about an hour before the game. Maybe not to a Flyers Penguins game though, still I went to a Flyers Caps game (Gagne's return, section 124 row 8) for dirt cheap.

This is a pic I took that accurately represents the view from seat. Had to zoom in a little cause camera's seems to make things look further away then they actually are.
Attachment 67177

If you have an iPhone you can even download the tickets to your passbook app and just have them scan the ticket right off your phone, no printing required.

Curious about this as well. I guess he could still force Hall out of the lineup.

Shouldn't Pronger and MAB be in navy? Surprised Holmstrom is still with the team. And as weird as it sounds I'm not surprised VandeVelde hasn't been cut, he's been very good.

They aren't on LTIR just yet and Wellwood signed a minor league contract while recovering from the injury. I can change what I posted to clarify that.

Yea, some rumblings about him playing Tuesday. Maybe he should just be overly cautious.

Laviolette said he's anxious to see Raffl & Laughton against the more talented exhibition games next week.

I guess we should expect to have them play a lot and with talent so see their potential.

What if Laughton ends up the 4C and Raffl ends up the 3W?

Then Mez would really have to be moved at that point and that Gill will have to be released as well.

Raffl - Couturier - Read
Talbot - Laughton - Rinaldo
Hall, Rosehill

That looks good to me especially since injuries are inevitable.

I would be ok with that.

Anyone else notice B Schenn has been getting a lot of pk time so far in his two preseason games? Did he pk in juniors or is this new?

He only play a total of 2 min and 20 sec sh last season and I assume that's only cause several of Talbot, G, Couts, Read, Gags, Fed, Hall and Knuble were in the box or otherwise unable.

I wonder if we see him add that to his rep this year and maybe give G a break every now and again.

I do find that Laughton on the 4th line would seem like a waste of his talents :/. I dunno...

Well based on Dave Isaac's blog, Laughton has not played any other position than C. Seems like an unwise choice to have him be at W if he's never played there, especially at the NHL level. So given that, I'm not sure Raffl is really fighting for a spot now. Laughton seems to be battling Hall, unless there is competition between Raffl/VV.

Lots of guys start playing 4th line, look no further then Richie. Plus Laughton projects to be a good 3C, so it's still a bottom six role. I understand wanting to leave him in juniors but if the Flyers give him a shot in the NHL then I would be completely ok with it.

I'm pretty sure VV is being looked at as a 4th liner who can pk, I doubt he's in the discussions for the LW spot.

Btw B Schenn never played anything but C before coming to Philly and that didn't stop them from moving him to wing with Briere two years ago. Granted his split time at wing but I don't see why they couldn't do that with Laughton too. Plus it's not like once you play one position you can never go back.

Well...

Also according to Isaac's blog, the lines at today's practice looked like this:

Hartnell - Giroux - Voracek
Raffl/VandeVelde - Lecavalier - Schenn
Talbot - Couturier - Read
Rinaldo - Hall/Laughton - Rosehill

Coburn - Timonen
Schenn - Streit
Grossmann - Meszaros
Gustafsson - Gill
Lauridsen - Gervais

This all seems to imply a few things:

1. Talbot seems to be the winger pegged for Couturier's off-wing.
2. Assuming Simmonds is going to be on the roster, Raffl and VandeVelde are just placeholders at this point in time.
3. Laughton may make the team as a 4th line center sending Hall to the pressbox.
4. They don't see Laughton as a winger at this point in time.
5. If Rosehill goes to the pressbox, Raffl or VandeVelde could be a fourth liner on the team instead.
6. The organization seems Talbot in the top 9.
7. Hartnell is staying with Giroux, and Schenn is staying with Lecavalier.

8. Coburn is going back with Timonen while Schenn is playing with Streit.
9. Gustafsson's poor camp so far has put him behind Meszaros meaning he could get waived if Meszaros doesn't get moved.
10. They might be keeping tabs on Gill in case they do move someone.

All that and I'm still not even really sure why Lauridsen is still in camp outside of rounding out the numbers on defense.

I thought maybe everybody was just moving up a slot. I assumed Simmonds is back, then Raffl would be where Talbot is, then Talbot goes to Rosehill's spot.

I get that, but do you think its smart to put a player who's never played there in an NHL game. That's not really a spot you "try things out" at. Especially if he can go back to juniors, maybe his junior team can throw him at W to help the learning curve. I'm not a fan of learning on the job when the games count. That's how mistakes happen and games get lost.

That's another possibility, but VandeVelde and Raffl are competing for Couturier's wing?

Raffl is still way too soft to make me feel comfortable with that because I'm assuming he wins that competition.

I don't know anything about either of those players.

VandeVelde shouldn't be on this team... if he makes it, that's a telling sign of how disappointing our young forwards were.

Really I thought he's been surprisingly impressive. I don't see a need to keep Laughton up if he's only going to be on the 4th line.

That's how mistakes happen and games get lost.
Very few C's can't play wing. It's actually less responsibility but I completely get what you're saying. I was just pointing out that it wouldn't be the first time the Flyers have done this. Carter was also moved to wing while first coming up playing with Richie on the 4th line. I'm not really sure if Carter played wing in juniors at all but like I said it doesn't seem like they consider it that big a deal.

We kept Couturier up to play on the fourth line...

Hell, you can give more defensive responsibilities to Laughton than Hall, and if Laughton can take away some of Couturier's vast defensive responsibilities, it gives Coots a chance to flex his offensive muscles in other situations a little more.
