Since high school in the province of Quebec ends at grade eleven, age 16 or 17, you have no direct routing to the NCAA.

Rather it is Midget AAA - QMJHL draft where players depending on selection activate the U.S. Prep School/USHL/JR. A to NCAA option. Maritime players are drafted at the same early age and their decision process is roughly the same.

18-20 Year Olds in Quebec

18-20 year olds in Quebec that appeared in the Q are not NCAA eligible. Jr A players in Quebec that are not former QMJHL players might make division II but they are nothing special. Some play CIS after their junior career and they are average at best.

The only worthwhile prospects come from the private or public schools with prep school or junior college programs. 2012 Stanstead College produced Mark Jankowski.

Second half of the season identify and follow types.

Jonathan Desbiens is currently playing for Lincoln of the USHL and had a decent preseason. He is from Ste. Therese

Three players from PEI who attended the U17 Team Atlantic tryouts (97's) and go to Prep schools are:

Ryan Steele (Holden - I think)
Morgan MacDonald (Appleby)
Nathan Sanderson (Stanstead)

You would have to think they were NCAA minded.

There seem to be a large number of '98's who went to prep schools this year from PEI as well.
