IMO Collberg was quite impressive tonight. I am of course expecting bigger things from him but considering that he's not used to North America rink size, I though he did play good and was not afraid of going in the traffic and battle for the puck in the corners. I believe he'll be a very good player for us in 1 or 2 seasons.

I was not impressed by Thomas, guy reminds me of Cammalleri, always looking for a shot even when it's not a good time for shooting.. ie on a powerplay when he got in the zone and shot directly on the goaler, puck when out of the zone and Habs never been able to setup in offensive zone. He's not really good in defense also.

I was impressed by the play of Dietz, Pateryn, Holland, Bournival, Nygren and McCaron (considering he's 18). Also the defensive awareness of Galchenyuk.

Should be cut : Tarnasky & Blunden. And Dumont need to wake up or he'll be sent back to Hamilton as well.

Not impress by Georges either..

Nygren looked fine tonight I liked him. Holland has 3rd line player ceiling he does everything good but him and Thomas could take some skating lessons. Thomas showed some skills he could be deadly on PP if he has many opportunities. Bournival's speed is amazing and you could see he will play in the nhl in a year or two and even this year. Dietz looked more then fine. Mccaron showed a lack of speed today but overall not bad. Collberg was disapointting, he was afraid of making plays he needs better puck control.

Tokarski looked fine too. Pateryn I would love him as a 6th D. Gally was given a key role tonight and thats what we have to give him if we want to develop him.

Gotta give it to the habs.... We always seem to draft players with the slickest names.

Bournival would make the Habs a better team if he had a spot I the top 12. He has great hockey sense, skates well. He is a good penalty killer as well. Not to mention that he is strong as an ox.

Every time McCarron parks his butt in front of the net they score lol I thought he looked good and its too bad he didnt score that laser shot. His skating isnt bad for his size but he needs to work on explosiveness

His performance tonight might be why he didn't earn an invite to team Canada's camp

Hey, could someone post the box score in this thread? Would be much appreciated.

Love for the prospects. Bergy is on point. Love the way he handles prospects.

All six of the Hab D looked like seasoned vets next to Komisarek. He has really fallen fast and hard.

So, back from the Colisée, and that was a fun game to watch

Here's what I saw.

Bournival played with determination. He was ON. Thomas and Collberg played more with a whatamIdoing look on their face, and it showed. Collberg was carried by a MaxPac/DD duo that was on fire, but I think he's going back to Sweden.

I cannot explain what Tarnasky was doing, or tried doing, in the early 2nd. Sorry.

McCarron is going to be good, but he got behind the play a few times and struggled to come back for defense. I don't know who's better than a Hunter to fix that flaw, though.

Pateryn played impressive. Solid, played with veteranish poise and smarts, and what a shot in the 1st. Tinordi wasn't as flashy, but he played a good, meaty game. Both can play in the NHL on the 3rd pairing.

Nygren looked at the crowd when we were doing the wave with a sort of strange bemused expression. I guess they don't do the wave where he's from.

Booing Komisarek was really fun, especially since nothing he did all game was amounting to anything. Bonus cheer from everyone when Bournival just bounced him off.

Budaj is playing for 1st goalie duty. What a 1st period. Tokarski really had it easy, but kept his concentration and did well.

Subban graced us with a little spinorama in the end. We liked. Great game from him.

Poor Ward. Bad game for his D and for him.

That's about it.

Dietz/Pateryn/Nygren looking pretty good, so were Bournival and Holland on offense.

Thomas did some nice plays, but a tough game overall for him. Collberg was invisible while his linemates were dominant. Those two don't look like future NHLers.

The fourth line was pretty good minus Tarnasky.

McCarron will be a good one.

Just to think that Murray can barely skate and he looks like a young defensive stallion/stud (Oh my!) compared to Komo.

He's trying for 20-25 games instead of 10.

.
Collberg is only 19 and comes from european rinks. You can't predict that he won't play in the NHL someday.

Is Darren Dietz another future 5th round steal? That kid is really impressive.

We could have our last four 5th rounders to be regular NHLers.

Gallaghère
Dumont
Dietz
Hudon

Demain à Montréal, les vétérans Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec et Rene Bourque disputeront un premier match préparatoire. #CH #RDS

Tomorrow Markov-Plekanec and Bourque will play.
