Prokhorkin has 1 goal through 5 games with CSKA and Hyka was 1+1 in his first game with Farjestad in SHL (SEL).

Prokhorkin had a decent game today, though he was held off the scoresheet. I submitted an article to The Mayor, and I'm going to be doing a weekly article for him on Kings prospects. Not sure when it will be published, but hopefully soon.

Hyka is an interesting case. We'll see how the season progresses this year in SHL, but drafted as an overageer with the ability to spend a season playing against men in SHL it'll be interesting to see what happens. He needs to be signed by June 1, 2014 or he heads back into the draft next year.

That'd be great! Looking forward to reading that. Thanks.

Looks like I picked the wrong game to watch. Prokhorkin had a hat trick today in Moscow's 6-3 win. If I had watched today's instead of Saturday, I would have more exciting material.

Pretty sweet goal here:

Here's the hat trick goal:

Seems like a great opportunity for Prokhorkin to play with a highly skilled player like Radulov. He certainly benefited from playing with him today.

Takes me back to when they had Khristich, Yachmenev and Tsyplakov. They could've had a Russian 5 with Ruslan Batyrshin and Denis Tsygurov on defense too. Maybe the Russian -5?

We need to be more stylish than that. This is the land of stars.

Jacksonov 5!

How about the Fairfax Line. Why Fairfax? Well, they have the largest community of Russians in LA. Maybe we can use that in the future if/when Zykov, Kitsyn and Prokhorkin are all on the team.

Random question. Why are Russian team names displayed in Cyrillic on the front but their last names are displayed with English characters on the back?

I believe that is because of some non-Russian teams joining the KHL and for other European countries that televise the games to be able to read the names in a universal language.

Remember that time I was telling everyone we should draft Porkins? And most people didn't really like the idea? Yeah. I can't wait to rub that **** in. Seriously. LOVE that kid.

I support the idea of the Fairfax 5 just to confuse everyone.

Leslie 1+2 in a 4-3 OT win. Auger -2 and a fight.

Wasn't his best game, I would have liked to see him be more consistent on a shift to shift basis. However, he seemed a lot stronger skating wise, which led to a couple odd man rushes.

I expect big things from him this year. Really looking forward to see what he can do.

What kind of big things are you expecting? He was already the CHL goalie of the year, and it wasn't close last year, IMO. There's really nowhere for him to go. I know people did not know about him as much last year since he wasn't Kings property, but he has already completely dominated the WHL.

I expect him to dominate again. Repeat as CHL goalie of the year while tightening up the holes in his game. Honestly the only reason he wasn't on my radar was the age. I thought for sure Dean would want an 18 year old to let develop for 2 years in the CHL and then move on. But I'm ecstatic with the pick. I know you wanted him to go pro but I think they made the right decision due to sharing ECHL affiliates with your other team. Olukinura will get the games over him if he was there.

Fair enough. I expect he will have another dominant year, but I will not be discouraged if he does not do quite as good as last season. I had Bartosak rated in the 2nd round in pre-draft rankings, we got a steal in this kid, I truly believe that.

Thing is, next year there will be competition in ECHL or AHL as well. Nothing changes. It may not be Olkinuora in particular (since I think he will moving on to AHL next year), but there will always be people pushing for ice, if he can't face them down he was never going to. Meh. I wasn't really trying to bring that back up though, my main point is I don't think you can judge too much if he isn't quite as good this season in WHL.
