It's pretty ludicrous to suggest they wouldn't do that when during the last two dual hosted tournaments they've kept teams in the same countries. Including in Switzerland and Austria where they very justifiably could have had teams play in both nations.

I find it unlikely they'll be sending teams to Turkey, then to Spain, then to Russia.

As for the hosts, I think they'll be England, Ireland, Romania, Germany, Spain (depending on what matches they get, adjust stadiums appropriately), Italy, Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, Croatia or Serbia, Greece. But who really knows. Regardless of what's chosen, there are going to be angry people.

Part of me also thinks this may be UEFA throwing a bone to those before who built stadiums for tournaments or hosted club Finals and that those are the countries which will be chosen.

You criticize without using any information but you question someone's logic? Come on...

I'd guess that England are hesitant to host it in the belief that it would be held against them in regards to potential World Cup bids.

Still more likely to happen than the Spain national team playing a home game in Barcelona.

Could have two groups in London, one group in Birmingham, one in Manchester, one in The North East and one in Yorkshire. Done. Would need 13 venues. Wembley for the final.

Emirates
Stamford Bridge
White Harte Lane
Olympic Stadium
Villa Park
St.Andrews/Moleneux (sp?)
Old Trafford
Etihad
St.James Park
Stadium of Light.
Elland Road
Hilsborough/Brammall Lane

Wembley.

Done.

Can't have cities host with that many stadiums. Only one city can have two host stadiums.

A more likely England bid would be of this sort:

Wembley
Emirates Stadium
Old Trafford
Anfield
St. James Park
Villa Park
Stadium of Light
St. Mary's
Elland Road
City Ground
Hillsborough
Carrow Road

Some of those like Anfield are in the process of starting renovations or would get them in the event of receiving a WC.

City Ground isn't good enough at the moment, I'm not sure if the new owner would want to redevelop the main stand for a tournament when there has been so much talk of a new ground if Forest can get back into the premier league and stay there for a few years.

a new ground would apparently have a 50k capacity and have a design similar to the emirates

I don't see Forest regularly selling out a 50k stadium.

1st - Tickets will be SOLD out before it's even announced which teams will play where.

2nd - I heard that ONE group will be split between TWO cities that are closest together.

IE:

Group A - Dublin / London
Group B - Athens / Istanbul
Group C - Copenhagen / Stockholm
Group D - Madrid / Saint-Denis
Group E - Vienna / Berlin
Group F - Amsterdam / Brussels

Semi Finals / Final - Rome

It would make sense to place the two home teams into those cities. I know it's an "unfair" advantage but that is what the hosts are entitled.
So for Group A (and say Ireland/England qualify) - it would be IRELAND, ENGLAND, RUSSIA, CROATIA

Ireland vs Russia @ Dublin
England vs Croatia @ London

Ireland vs Croatia @ Dublin
England vs Russia @ London

Ireland vs England @ Dublin
Croatia vs Russia @ London

Half your venues are in NW Europe

If the idea is to give the Euro to cities that would not normally get it, and that's really the only reason to go with Dublin, then Bucharest is 100% in, while on the other hand Vienna, Amsterdam and Brussels sound unlikely. In fact half your venues had the Euro or the WC in the last 20 years.

They won't take previous hosts of Euro's or WC's into context. This is to "celebrate" the game so they'll go wherever is best.

Well in that case Moscow, Kiev, Warsaw, Bucharest and Lisbon are certainly in over Dublin or Copenhagen.

From Eurosport:

UEFA president Michel Platini wants to invite non-European teams to compete in the European Championship in the future, a report claims.

The Independent on Sunday reports that sides like Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Japan could be invited to the tournament as early as 2020.

If true then

I wouldn't be surprised, if Forest get promoted and stable then you'll see a stupid amount of money spent.

And then you'll get the bandwagon fans like Chelsea have.

Being a big student city you'll also get a bunch of casual fans going to games as well.

I'd rather them go slightly smaller somewhere between 40-45 though

It would suck to see a non-European/UEFA nation play in the EUROs before Finland...

UEFA has denied the story

Although a dumb idea, it would be seen as a threat to FIFA and possibly the 2022 World Cup

And to be honest, I am concerned that in future World Cups, FIFA will take away spots from UEFA, there is already discussion of giving 4 automatic spots to CONCACAF and reducing European places
