They're only 2 inches apart. Give him a few seasons and he'll be there. Not saying he'd necessarily beat him up but he'll be able to hold his own. He was beating the crap out of Gleason tonight until he tripped on the stick at his feet. Not Chara, but he's still a tough veteran.

Seems a but rash that after one bad luck game people want Pateryn cut but I'm excited that Tinordi is making it near impossible for mgmt to send him down. If Diaz starts is it now Murray vs Bouillon for the last spot on D?

I it just me or Diaz just hasn't been the same since is concussion, I was a big supporter when he started but he just doesn't seem have the same confidance his puck handling, pass and shooting seem off and I haven't seen any improvement in preseason...
I don't think Tinordi has anything left to learn in the AHL.

If Tinordi isn't on the roster for the opening game of the season, this board will explode (and rightfully so). He's ready.

Tinordi is still going to get bigger too. I bet he ends up around 235lbs.

He's @ 227lbs, he probably already weighs that after a big meal

And hopefully we'll have McCarron as well. Could be a pretty good answer to Lucic-Chara.

By the time Tinordi and Mccarron are established NHLers, Charas probably out of the league.

Having two guys like McCarron and Tinordi on this team is going to be crazy. Throw in a Parros-like goon and Ryan White and you've got yourself a big, bad group.

I had doubts about Tinordi but holy crap he's showing things out there. Komisarek was always slow as molasse and never had any abilities with the puck. On the other hand Tinordi is pretty fast for a guy his size, and he has way more abilities with the puck than Komisarek ever had. A big guy like Tinordi who can skate is a scary thing if he is willing to hit. Tonight, we saw what happens when he decides to do it. We've also seen him makes some decent first passes and he has pretty good accurate shot.

People can compare to Komisarek all they want but I don't see it. And I say that as someone who watched Komisarek's draft. I saw nearly every game he played for the habs. The comparison with O'byrne makes more sense because O'byrne could skate but it's still off.

Why not? We're talking about two guys at 6'6 ~240 lbs (eventually for Tinordi) here.

On a separate topic, Dietz already has a great mind for the game. Really looking forward to see how he fares in a full AHL season.

Weight and hit has not much to do with physical play and fighting though... See Brian Boyle

Tinordi looked like crap tonight, he may be big, but he still has a lot of work to do on his D game.

Datspuke? What has he ever done to deserve that name? He's a class act

So that's how you judge a player, his +/-?

His "end" weight will be more like 250-255. And I'm OK with that. The kid is a beast and absolutely deserves a roster spot.

Playing the Devil's advocate. I think he means to point out that some of the goals scored by the Canes tonight were due to Tinordi compromising his position in order to give big hits.

I agree that Tinordi has been showing he's improved a great deal. He's faster, stronger and imposes himself well enough on the ice. But fact of the matter is, he did compromise his position in favor of hitting opponents. I think he did that mainly to give a good impression. His decision making, whether to hit or not and such, those will come with more experience that's for sure.

I think he's nearly ready for a full time spot. He just needs to be more aware of the consequences of his decisions. Otherwise, I think he's good to go if he can learn that on the job.

That's chara type of weight and he's 6'9.

Pronger was 220 lbs all his career and never had a problem with the physical side of the game. If Tinordi get at 235, he will be more than okay IMO.
