Pretty much. If the MVP race were separated by .4 WAR, I wouldn't have a problem with it going either way.

Thanks...and I understand, still think Cashner has pitched much better this year.

It comes down to this for me. Is Eric Stults helping the team win more or is Cashner? Clearly, it is Cashner, whether it is luck on BABIP, maybe his pitches have a little more movement this year and are just harder to get through for hits? Did that occur to anyone? Like I said, something missing, haven't put my finger on one thing yet, maybe it is a bunch of things, but it just seems so convoluted to the point where there are too many numbers involved for it to really give you a strong indication of anything.

Stults has put his team in more of a position to win and they've let him down more than Cashner.

Cashner is a young pitcher breaking in. He just might have more movement now, a little more late life, that can explain the BABIP. But WAR doesn't consider that. If BABIP means that much in WAR, it neglects what is happening on the field. BABIP for hitters makes a lot of sense. Hitters face similar competition, they have to hit the ball, it's simple. But BABIP for pitchers is not simple.

No, it is simple. Hitters are hitting .271 on the balls they put in play on Cashner.

.290 to .300 is where you'll mostly float. Cashner is under that.

While it is true some pitchers have a lower than normal BABIP over the course of their career, Cashner has't proven he's that type of pitcher.

Strikeout pitchers pretty much. He's doing the opposite of that.

He never got to 3 balls in the count last night. 97 pitches. He's a power control guy, still coming in at 93 consistently with the ability to reach back if needed.

Angels after Tanaka. There goes that idea. They are going to end up having the highest payroll ever.

Two championships in Chicago this summer as the Schaumburg Boomers win the Frontier League title.

I was apparently bad luck for teams at Alexian Field, as they get good as soon as I move.... that means Northwestern's in for a world of hurt now that I live in Evanston.

Baez not going to the AFL. Dissapointing.

It sucks but at least he is still going to be in Arizona. He'll be able to work on his defense with Cubs coaches.

Good ole Axelrod. I am struggling to think of a pitcher that has sucked so much in one season. Usually when you're this bad, they don't let you stick around all season to keep blowing games.

how else would they secure a good draft pick? even with horrible offense, the pitching could have won them more games.

Yep they might be looking at picking at 6-8 if not for this guy. We owe him a lot.

It's a long season. Arsenal got crushed by Aston Villa at home, Man City dropped a game to Cardiff. Disappointing result but injuries have finally caught up to them, Suarez coming back at just the right time.

Just stop.

It's like you just look at a score and don't wanna even bother with how the game actually played out and why the score ended as such.

I watched that entire game, Benteke was dominating. Yes Arsenal hit the bar down 2-1 before the red card but Villa was all over them that game

Post on Cubs Den about the Cargo to Cubs trade having some legs. Perhaps Arrieta and prospects. I'd give up Vogelbach

I'd give up just about anything. Cargo is an absolutely amazing hitter. And he's better away from Coors. I don't know how that's possible.

The Sox blew a 6-0 lead in the 9th inning, then lost in 12. What a waste of another dominant start by Chris Sale.

The Royals have lost their 73rd game.
