Malcolm Subban or Niklas Svedberg

Simple.. what would your team offer for one or the other

Svedberg was AHL goalie of the year last year

I'd kill to have Svedberg in the Oilers system

Really?

I think he's the most hyped/overrated goalie prospect on the planet

Not much goalie prospects are so tough to judge. You might be trading for Tuuka Rask or Justin Pogge.

Goalies have little trade value until they prove themselves as capable starters.

There's also little reason to do this as neither Sveddy or Malcolm are ready to NHL minutes. Depth is a good thing. Wait for there to be a goalie controversy before moving a goalie.

Goaltending prospects have minimal value in comparison to any other prospect.

Only non-nhl goalie prospect that id risk trading anything of value to (if I was in charge) would be Gibson.

If there's anything I've learned on HF it's that having a bad WJC means you're a bust.

Might as well become an insurance salesman to not waste time after that.

I'd give a lot for Mrazek or Vasilevsky as well.

Subban scares me a bit as a prospect. He clearly has put up good numbers, but whenever I see him he looks shaky.

8 GA in your first full pre-season game doesn't help much either.

Funny considering the Wings dressed almost all their 2013/2014 roster and the Bruins didn't

I think it's fair to say, that whoever else was on the ice for either team, Subban did not look good in that game. I really don't think ONE preseason game has a lot of meaning to it at all, but I do think it's fair to say the kid looked over his head.

I saw Bill Ranford get absolutely pasted in a regular season game against Hartford in his rookie season. I thought I'd never see him in the NHL again. I believe he won a Cup and a Conn Smythe so jumping the gun on rookie goalies isn't smart.

But as I said, in my totally limited viewings of Subban, I've yet to see him look good. Clearly he must have looked good in the majority of games I haven't seen, because his overall numbers are always decent to very good.
